  1. I hear you but its an interesting comparison. Ie I go with a Kiwi for lunch, we have some beers. I cannot compare prices back to home as then I'll have a heart attack. Question is does he feel the pinch in his wallet as well 3 beers down?
  2. So her is an interesting analogy, lets say a beer costs $10 = R120 a beer. Based on a good SA salary of 30k/month after tax leaves you with say 24k = 200 beers. What would a good NZ salary after tax get you in beers? The same or more?
  3. Congrats Nolipoli I hope I get my dream as well...
  4. Or August when we are down there for our Honeymoon? In the meantime can we plan a date for the hubbers braai/BBQ and where? I can make the following weekends 6th/7th, 13th & 14th or during the week from the 2nd to 19th August.
  5. Nolipoli send me the details please, maybe we can join you there
  6. If it comes with a job offer I sure my wife will allow me to help on our honeymoon hahahaha
  7. 1.5months and we there for our honeymoon and to Jol with you hubbers hopefully.
  8. Thank you for that interesting information Intern
  9. Why do they not like the Auzzie or American boats? I see they make strange Alu jet boats? Is there a problem with a Glass boat? In SA I only know of Glass boats besides the odd wooden boat. Then aren't sea boats meant to have double engines? But looking at the fact that no skippers is needed makes me wonder...
  10. Silly question but, I see fishing is the sport to do there besides cycling. Do people actually boat like ski and tube etc? Reason is I cannot touch a fish they freak me out lol...
  11. You gents are all correct and I hope to see you guys. I will be in Hillcrest just north of Auckland. So what do you say, can we do a Hubber Barbi?
  12. I want to see if the Apple Watch really gives a heart rate from gel or was it cream that someone posted?
  13. But they were saying if your entire team of 4 members you would get major discounts from partners etc. Another false promise?
  14. Hello Hubbers Guess who is coming for their honeymoon in August? Yes me your crazy 3 wheeling friend!!! I want to show my future wife what life could be like if we decided make the Groot Trek. Quite ironic as my grandparents fled Europe due to the wars and now we want to flee due to the crime and other crap that is going on. I will be in NZ for 3 weeks, staying in Auckland but would love to travel and meet some of you guys. Do you think we could have a Hubbers Barbi for all those in Auckland? And lastly a huge request who has a spare bike and feels like taking me on some awesome trails? We will be available from the 2nd August to the 19th August. Looking forward to seeing some old faces!!!
  15. Hi Guys 1 I am looking for someone that actually meets their goals to join my team if you have a space available. 2 What is the best reward you guys have received if your entire team met their goals besides for smoothies? Thank you in advance
  16. I must say I have the Virgin card that has no monthly fees, had it for years now and no change. No rewards but atleast no monthly fees.
  17. So I just got this reply from Discovery: Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. With the successful take up of the Vitality Active Rewards it did come to our attention that certain members were 'gaming' the system. The improvements to the Vitality fitness points structure now better reflect the clinical benefits different types of exercise have on health and we now favour verifiable data. Should you decide not to purchase a fitness device with a heart rate monitor your goals may increase but will decrease over time to ensure that you can make them with the workouts you complete. We found that members recording speed data may have been doing so through not actually completing the workout and therefore we took the decision to reduce the points for this category instead of removing it completely. You can make use of the HealthyCare or HealthyGear benefit and receive up to 25% cash back on a fitness device purchased using these benefits. In saying the above we are always looking at new ways on how we can improve the benefit and if any further refinements are made we will let you know through the website or the Newsletter. Thanks, Discovery Vitality (DV) So my question is how without using their credit card can I make use of HealthyCare or HealthyGear?
  18. That is what I thought and that is what the abusers were doing to get Strava unsupported. I was happy only earning 300 points for every morning ride I did.
  19. But Strava no longer counts? I don't think the Wahoo Tickr works with S-Health then? I know the R1500 Polar H7 strap works.
  20. On a funny note, I should borrow a HR monitor for my Wedding Ceremony. I think I will get 3000 points for a 31 min Sermon sounds about fair based on what saying "I do" can do to your heart rate?
  21. No I did not but someone in this thread did hence why I am skeptical to take on debt only to find the device null and void. The fact that people are battling with Suunto is a concern. Hell even these Fitbit things are useless. I actually have a Samsung Gear Fit watch. It records my HR while I cycle but does not sync this info to S-Health which is an approved APP. Then my cycle gets recorded as steps on Discovery which is useless.
  22. There are 2 sides of the points here: 1 is to get to gold - I agree with your statement 2 is to get weekly goals and rewards, smoothies are nice but I am more interested in getting my gym membership money back The problem with point 2 is based on how they are generated, but more importantly why do they never come down?
  23. Yes so every time they feel like changing the rules are you going to buy another device and incur more debt? Somewhere in these 261 pages was a device that was recommended by Discovery but now is no longer supported, so that was a waste on money. I see no refunds there!!!
