  5. hey Mamba, thanks man, that makes me feel a great deal better....I am fine....just my right hand is quite sore, not sure how it got hurt, but after spinning last night it was aching a little.....nothing some dinner and a guava juice couldn't fix. No Problem. I have noted it and will add some directions to the topic for Saturday's ride.....it's a nice route and quite too.....with some great views as the sun rises over the hills.....**hope it doesn't rain or somethings** And if time permits we could sit drinking coffee afterwards at mugg and bean while we sweat all over their early morning customers and clean muffin covered tables and chairs....hehehehe Round up some more peoples and I will put the direction up like i said 7 lines above... topic for Sat https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=10381&PN=2 Saffa_G2007-02-19 23:26:49
  6. yup, shaun is also going to join, possibly angela too...
  7. Yeah 6am at Woodlands mall on the Garsfontein road side, in the parking lot.....hope they have the gates open then....if not you'll see me riding around outside on the pavement looking lonely and cold probably.....
  8. okay, so after some discussion with Miss V we have decided that the ride should start at 6:00am from the Woodlands Mall....that means i need to ride there....from my house....20minutes.....
  9. Miss V, we can start earlier, the 730 was merely a starting point, my puppies wake me up at around 4.40am everyday so if you want we can meet at 6am at the mall? hehehehe if anyone wants to try out this area they can join, the ride will be based on a loop of about 28-30km with us doing 2 loops instead of riding out towards Welbekend.....this is so that if there are any new riders, they can opt to miss the 2nd loop.....but there are loads of places to stop along the way if you get tired, but it is just a nice ride....
  10. yup yup....i agree....i don't liek the idea of weddings....in fact being single means i can ride when i want, how long i want, with who i want and where i want.....i know some of the married people here also have that freedom, but some also don't when they get married!! hehehe poor suckers anyways....my legs are already itching for my next ride....dammit, if only i didn't have to work
  11. u are forgiven due to your interest in the 6 hour torture race on sunday
  12. hi folks anyone interested, we plan to do a nice MTB training ride from out near Pretoria East on Saturday, basically heading out towards Welbekend, then back and around some farm land in the east....should be around 65 - 75km....not technical at all, just some endurance start around 730am, meeting at the Woodlands mall on Garsfontein Side.... Any Takers??
  13. i think that was a given, well in my opinion it was....no one I know whould ride for 6 hours just for fun.....hehehehe, well maybe some of my sick freinds....no wait, not them either
  14. 6 hour ride.....argghhh my gosh you dudes are seriously ill....argghhh....I'll get there, don't worry.....hehehe
  15. now the truth comes out.....Dirt Rider was harassing all the ladies in the car park.....sheesh, no wonder we got such bad looks when he joined us again You Missed out Miss V....was really fun, but there is always next time and of course "The Drop" Yeah Thug, the canadian dude was like a ferrari up the hills....hehehe you were giving it stick too.....
  16. Great ride today, was absolutely perfect, except for the heat...otherwise it was a great ride.... Arrived bright and early as was requested by Michelle, 7am...argghhh, but nevertheless I was in a chirpy happy mood and was greeted by the familiar Dirt Rider as I entered the parking area of the Northern Farms....good to see old acquaintances after such a long time. Michelle was horribly late and only arrived 30 minutes after we all arrived, but the good thing was that no one had to wait for me to get ready like they normally do....."didn't I feel good" Riders that were there: Morgan Cannondale dude!? Name again - i forgot KenMamba MichH Dirt Rider The Thug Shaun Angela SaffaG The farm wasn't so busy today, nice to see all the families riding out there with kiddies right up to old grannies.....who incidentally were not impressed with Dirt Rider....something he said? Not sure, but all I can tell you is that this old granny shouted back at him "it's because of my age".....nevertheless it was on on and off into the distance, we covered some nice ground and I enjoyed the single track immensely. Most of the ride was pretty much stop and go, but still was quite fun playing catch up on the hills.... We had some bike mechanics "bush style" when MicH realized that she couldn't "uncleat" due tot he fact that she had a screw loose....hehehehe, no pun intended...she was missing a cleat screw....I managed to get her smelly shoe off her pedal after she undid her laces and then we managed to loosen the shoe and the pedal from the cleat! Lucky for me I had a spare screw for her....and we were off in no time.....only to stop 100m down the drag due to me having some broken spokes....dammit!! None of thos stops dampened the spirits of the rest of the riders, Dirt Rider, Shaun and The Thug from bunny hopping the telephone pole/log int he path...nice boys..... The ride ended off pretty much after about 2 hours and we decided to head to "the drop" and then on towards the single track......some were keen to ride the drop, but for some it just wasn't their day and they opted out.....just after I made the drop we headed into the fast single track heading back towards the car park....I guess I was over enthusiastic and heading off after The Thug and Dirt Rider....somehow I ended up jumping a small root, landing and then not being on the correct path.....**BASHHH** that was me did a nice "endo" hehehehe landed head first in the ground and then stumbled around before putting both shoes in the water Thanks for the great ride and hope we all make it back again soon soon and maybe make it a longer loop or 2.......have fun and have a great week.....Saffa

  25. to be honest I have had several close calls, in my car even, with the Metro Cops in Pretoria....so I feel duly justified in what I stated....for sure, we can't generalise, it isn't everyone of the Metro Cops....but I guess what peeves us is that it was a Metro Cop that hit him....of all road users I guess I got a bit upset......due to that fact.....but you are right, I wasn't there so I don't know exactly what happened...... Nevertheless I'd still like to stick my foot pump there...hehehehehe
