  1. After Bela at least it was clear Dave is not Doping.
  2. Last year there was a similar thread. It is expensive. Consider that they are bascially closing 5km of half a lane and that is it....... Also the race just doesnt have a lekker vibe due to lack of infrastructure. Look at BSG. They make you want to stay afterwards.

    Dopers

I wonder if the world of Triathlon is just as vrot as cycling............?
  4. If you dope then you are doing cycling for the wrong reasons. If people (average joes) dope to win in cycling, what else would they do to win in other aspects of life? Who cares in any case. I race against myself.
  5. The sad thing is that Hansie was held accountable and the rest was swept under the carpet accept for a few retired players that was found guilty. I mean match fixing is still going on today (in my opinion) yet everyone just seem to look in the other direction..... Guys like Shane Warne and Mark Waugh was also implicated by caught out bookies yet we never heard from that again. Cricket is probably just as vrot as cycling for all we know...... When Pakistan and co play in anycase......
  6. This will be the year of the Garf...... Wil6 I am going next weekend for the 94.7. You?
  7. Yes. I will be doing Abu Dhabi Tri which is 2 March. I wanna do Xterra. I will be ding IM PE. I want to do Buffels/Midmar depending on how they fit in around Abu Dhabi.......... As you can see there are way too many willing training partners in ol Bloemies..............
  8. Cool so I got the watch (910xt) and it is awesome. Just one question............ since the Garf is a rough rider......... do they sell a cover accessory that can protect it? I am afraid it might scratch upon contact with DaveM's eyeball....................
  9. It just needs to be right. I wanna see my correct averages etc. I have built up a profile on Racetec's site of more than 30 races. If they really wanna tick me off then go ahead and start publishing errors. How would you feel if you finish the comrades and on your medal it states 55km run well done.............
  10. But i did take a few turns very wide (just to give the other cyclist a fair chance)
  11. My Garmin said 106.4km total distance
  12. Did she wear Grey? I saw a lady wearing Grey and one with a cycle lab kit that was from Pta...........
  13. Ok cool I was in that group. Remember the Kumba Ironore oke. He did a lot of work at the start. And that oke with the red shirt. But obviously as the race went on and the going got tough the true alpha male namely "the Garf" came to the fore and drove that bunch on like pack of wild dogs......
  14. Any Triathletes interested in a ride this coming Saturday in Bloemfontein? LHP 5 o'clock start.... out to Krugersdrift and back and then Sunninghill and back to Church Street and back to LHP all on the high way? Around a 100 - 120km ride at 30km average?
  15. Die afstand is nou reg
  16. Ja dude I saw that!!!! The guy wore an Orange racing shirt!!!!
  17. Fanie I think the problem was that there was a soccer match the same day that they had to cater for. Small price to pay for the quality and safe race that was put up. Really like the partial road closure on the N1.
  18. Ja or the okes that swings his waterbottles around knocking out other cyclists before taking a drink.
  19. Either way I really like the new course. It makes for good racing. Gone are the days of keeping up for 15km until you hit the high way and then just suck along forever!
  20. No I was riding in front with that oke with the Red shirt. That oke was a bloody monster. But ja the whole thing shattered upon those climbs. I rode at the front past the golf courses. Then on top of Albrecht I stopped for water. Once we passed Noordstad we formed sort of a group and I dragged them all the way to the end before they sprinted away. I probably lost you whilst stopping for water. Or I was a group back from the start.
  21. Ja well soon enough someone will blast me for my comment. Wait and see......
  22. 3h06. I think we rode toghether until the top of Albrecht when I stopped for a refill. I was on the white silverback. Race went really well. Waited to bonk from km 40 but it never happened despite working at the front like a madman!
  23. Was it a cyclist attacking a marshall? Did anyone get his number? Seriously that oke should be banned from all events for 2 years or something
  24. This weekend I did the OFM. It was truly an awesome race even though have a few issues with some of the guys in our "C" bunch. Rant on:- Some okes are really erratic. They swerve without warning and when they decide to suddenly jump out of the saddle beware cause they will move 2m sideways within 2 seconds. Then you also get those idiots that freak out about people holding there lines etc. As far as I am concerned as long as you are predictable then it is fine. Dont make sudden movements. It is impossible to hold your line cause the oke in front is not holding his line etc etc And FFS you dont need to show everyone in the bunch your new waterbottle. Just have a sip and put it back whilst NOT looking down. It is really not that difficult. Yesterday it was almost as the okes were declaring the bunch a feeding/neutral zone cause he wants to have a drink. Also it is the riders in the front's responsibility to warn guys at the back about potholes etc. This however doesnt mean shouting and swerving on the N1 cause a car is parked 2 metres of the side the road. WTF was that all about. Then lastly chill the F out guys. Everytime we caught a loner from the bunch upfront there was movemnent and attacks. Everytime we went around a corner for some reason everyone gets all worked up sprinting and aggressive and dangerous. Oh and if you are a stray dog from a front bunch that gets picked up, fall in at the back and work your way up. It is "*** styl" to force yourself into fourth wheel without even looking around. Oh and thanks to the 5 guys who sprinted away for their own little victory after being dragged up to the finish line by myself for the last 20km's. Rant off:- Still it was an awesome race!! Maybe I am getting too old for bunch riding... maybe its the triathlon racing that has made me weak....
  25. 3h06. I think we rode together until the top of Albrecht when i stopped for new waterbottles. Well done.
