  1. Cause they marketed a race, took our money and then 3 weeks before race day they cancelled. A lot of people still have not got their money back. People like me already booked hotels, flights, bike transport etc. People like me started tapering after training our arses off for 9 months throughout the winter only to not race. Thats why. We are not talking a sprint distance event, we are talking a full IM distance. The mechanics and preparations change.
  2. Cant you afford a TT bike seperately. Remember if you sell/swop your road bike then you wont be able to do any cycle races at all?
  3. Thanks Skuzzi I have indeed done that! I am going
  4. Thanks! Ja I hear you. But in my experience in general the first time you ride any course it is fun or interesting...... The cradle is quite entertaining but since I have done it 30 times already I would probably rather do a spin class in my toilet as this point in time! And on a 180km route you are bound to get bored somewhere!! Even Kona's bike route looks very *** at some areas. Also I will just ride a photo along with me of an Oasis and whenever I feel bored or tired I will take it out and look at it. Mind over matter
  5. how the F did he catch that?
  6. yes please
  7. One more wicket and we are into the soft underbelly..............

  9. If you book now on Emerates its R6,600 per ticket from Joburg - Abu Dhabi (via Dubai) and back. Then you can stay at the Hilton Hotel for 2 nights BB included for R1,500. This Hotel is next to transition. So what remains is entry, your visa and pocket money. Go read what the pros say about the race, they all seem to like it.
  10. I like hot and flat.... PS:- on the website it says the max that time of the year is 28 degrees which is perfect. Not sure what you mean with boring? Cycling around a massive ocean city and over the F1 track and over islands seems better than Germiston or PE!!!???
  11. cool thx. Found it on google.... You know IM train so hard.... might just as well reward ourselves with racing at exotic locations!
  12. I agree with Faceplant. That lake is dirty. It seems however that it makes a massive difference in which area and depth the sample for the testing is taken. I have done about 4 races there in the last 24 months and it is sif. You can see it and smell it. Look closely before the event and I guarantee you, you will find condomns, empty bottles, dead fish etc along the shore. Again just smell it. It makes you want to puke!! And in any case for the Olympic distance.... that high entry fee does not justify the effectively 5km road closure cause thats all it is. Oh and its not full road closure, only partial. You share one lane back and forth. If you want clean water, go do the tri's at Buffelspoort. Now that is awesome!
  13. Haha! Chase the game bitches!!!!!!!!!!1 If we can somehow bat to lunch then the game is slipping away from Eng! They will need to come out and bat positive and therefore give chances! And the one oke they need now is KP.
  14. Thise would look so nice on my new TTbike!
  15. It just makes sense. 3km swim, 200km and 20km run is perfect 6 weeks before PE. You can recover in time. If it was 42km run maybe not! Also its not that expensive.... Normally if you fly down to PE and all that the whole trip also comes down to R10k. So I will do this and then go cheapskate in PE. Drive down with other people etc.....
  16. I somehow recall a game when Devon Malcolm was hit on the head a few years back. Took 9 wickets shortly after
  17. Haha!! Thats OK. The swim is only 3km. Actually they are not an IM body so they spesifically state that the organisers can decide at their own descretion and the average water temps that time of the year are 22 degrees.......... Anyways there is a difference in swimming in clear hawaian like waters and the muddy waters of PE......... But thanks for that in anycase. Was trying to block that out until I get there
  18. God help everyone in that team. Bowling a beamer to Dale on a swinging lively bouncy wicket is almost as dangerous as taking on the Garf on the Hub in any thread or topic. God help all of you!
  19. I think the two double tons are pulling the average up. He has however also scored the most ducks in his carreer in the last 2 years!
  20. Pretty awesome website this!! http://www.howstat.com.au/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerProgressBat.asp?PlayerID=2043 It basically shows that the as Kallis's strike rate increases his consistency decreases. Its like economics.... higher risk higher rewards! Usually you always knew he was good for a 100 every 2nd game.......... Now he is good for a double ton, but only every 5th game!!! I think I have made my point.
  21. Damn I am good!!!!! Exactly like I said. Due to Kallis "transforming" his batting you see exactly what you would expect. He achieved very high scores in the last two seasons due to him not getting tired at 100 as per usual cause he is not taking forever to get there anymore. This cost of this however is that he also scores a lot less frequently and is therefore not as reliable as he iused to be. Maybe we can blame it on money? IPL = millions of $'s.... who wouldnt want that?? The Garf Strikes again. Sir Garfield Sobers http://www.howstat.com.au/cricket/Statistics/Players/PlayerBatGraph.asp?PlayerID=2043
  22. Jaja I guess you are right although Alviro got one big score between a load of low scores so its not fair to call him reliable. And Kallis has had some sort of a midlife crysis for the past 3 years since being critisized for "batting too slow". Now he bats quick but definately is not the rock he used to be..... Wonder what his 2011 average was compared to say 2008??? If I was to put my money on someone to bat for my life it has to be Hashim. THe only batsmen that was bowled out and didnt give it away. That man is soooo patient it is unbelievable. But for the record, Peer Spies kan nogsteeds nie `n *** tekkel nie.........
  23. But hey.... At least we dont have a **** opening the batting for us
  24. Lets rather put it this way..... Our top order is about as reliable as Pierre Spies on the defense........... or a second hand Land Rover / Jeep .......
  25. http://www.abudhabitriathlon.com/ Anyone done this before? I am going to do it. Total costs R10k. Thats not bad! And it is perfectly timed before PE.
