  1. What kind of speed are you talking about. Brackenhurst to the Lido and back is not long enough.
  2. I think at this level either one should do the trick.

  5. Agreed. Some more advice Train your weaknesses and not your strengths
  6. Not sure only used Maryke's programs because they work and its like you have a personal trainer onboard because if you got any questions or any other issues all you do is mail and within an hour or so you got a reply with all the info you need. (Advice, changing of program and so on)
  7. You can apply it for both. I ride my MTB on the road through the week because it gives you a better workout and then over weekends I do some off road riding but you can chop and change as you wish because it is hart rate based training. I ride both MTB and Road bike through the week, all depends on how I feel. I ride mostly MTB through the week because it gives me a better workout.
  8. I am on week 7 of my training program that I got Maryke to do and I can’t believe the improvements I have made in all areas. I say get a good program to start with. I don’t believe it is the amount you do but the quality of the ride you do. (Structured program in other words))
  9. The race was great but the map on the Cyclelab website on how to get there was really poor. It will be on my calendar for next year (how about GPS coordinates)
  10. Hi All I need some advice on MTB tyres. I want to go tubless and have been advised to go Continental Mountain King 2.2 on the front and Race King 2.2 on the back. This is for traction on the front and less rolling resistance on the back. What do you think about this.
  11. What is the ideal front and rear suspension pressure to ride with on a soft tail. (as a general rule)
  12. cool thanks. ok help me with the setup thing

  16. cool thanks for the advice will look at this option first before i go out and buy one.
  17. Thats cool but will it work with my Polar because it does not come with a reading device.
  18. cool thanks for the advice but i have just upgraded my crank set to a Sram red, so for me to go to srm will mean a new crank set again.
  19. Hi All, I need advise on a Polar power meter. Is it worth the money and how well do they work. I have the Polar CS600X with all the other sensors. Does it really make such a big difference with your training and pacing yourself while racing.
  20. Hi Durbano, I am insured with outsurance, they have a special bike insurance that covers you for all risk. It covers you for transporting, riding and at home. I went riding about a month ago and connected a tree, bent my front wheel. I put in a claim and they replaced both my wheels all inclusive.
  21. Hi all Can someone please tell me what time you guys and gals meet for your weekend group rides from Zumbug race track. I know it is 7am in the summer but when does it change to 7:30.
  22. < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">< name="ProgId" ="Word.">< name="Generator" ="Microsoft Word 12">< name="Originator" ="Microsoft Word 12"><> I rode the 40km Valentines ride out at Stonehaven on Vaal on Sunday and I really need to say thanks to the rider wearing the Germanton Wheelers outfit that helped me right at the end, on the last 150m sprint when I tried to change a gear and my chain came off. He actually slowed down and pushed me with his one hand to keep me going while I bent over to get my chain back onto the front sprocket, once the chain was back on he gave me a push and told me to go for it. I must thank you once again, you are a champion. something like this just makes me want to ride more and more, it really made my day. .
