  1. At the expo's at EPIC and like, they often hand out free lenses - otherwise you going to be shocked at the price of lenses alone!
  2. who has quoted you on the zipp101's? The price looks VERY good.
  3. I am riding a set of Zipp101's and am loving them. Please let me know where you getting them at the price quoted?
  4. Got a pair of Rudy Project Rydons this last week - AWESOME!!!
  5. My brand new bike got a weather enforced sleep in this am.... and tomorrow again with Christmas. So boxing day it will have to be.... where to, will just have to see!
  6. Rode through winter in Jhb....naaaaasty, but done!
  7. VB - 5h45. Last 94.7 I was still a Dbn-nite.... hopefully will find the air more to my liking now!
  8. I have had about 6 sets of evil eyes over the years - but don't love the insets... What model adidas are these?
  9. Very sad to read. I have been hit twice in the last year, last one this month! Really not sure whether to replace the bike as I have used two credits already. We do need to be more careful - road bikes just do not stop as quickly as we would like them too! My prayers with the family - and all of you bikers out there too! Take care.
  10. Hi Hubbers In the market for some new wheels - mostly training and the early morning stuff. Anybody got a set of Zipp101's and what you think?
  11. Hi Hubbers Looking for someone who may have had same / similar experience before. Last week I was involved in an accident - hit by car. Front fork snapped and pretty much all but frame (apparently at this stage) a write-off. Cerveloe have conveyed that the life time warranty will no longer apply as bike been in an accident. If insurers do not replace frame as no apparent damage (after x rays) that would leave me without life time warranty. What your thoughts? Not pointing any fingers at either Cervelo nor insurer - just wanting to see if any Hubbers have ever been faced with similar scenario and if so, some relevant comments would be helpful. Thanks
  12. Hi Hubbers So What did you do this weekend? We went out for ride Sat morning on the road - good 90kms followed by coffee at the Wimpy. Headed home down William Nicoll only to be cut off by vehicle which turned across in fornt of me. Hit the car, over the rear boot. Lucky to be ok considering - road rash, abrasions and very sore finger. Sadly the second car incident in 1 year - and bike totalled once more. Fortunately insured. Keep safe - heard this am another cyclist knocked down. Very sad. Chin up!
  13. All good to read!
  14. Please someone help. I have always sent my polar watch in for battery changes, but what about speed sensors? Is it advisable to do this oneself? Thanks
  15. What about some sort of tracking device that fits to the spokes - similar to speed sensor magnet that then charges itself through kinetic energy..... 10c input from an accountant...
  16. I am a reltively big guy - 90 odd kgs and purchased a set of Zipp 808's - I don't TT but use them for all the early season flat races. They are the bomb!
  17. Insure my road bike through Cyclesure. Costs in the region of R750pm - best insurance I ever took - smashed by a security vehicle after only 3 months and received a brand new baby all over again. Best return ever!

  20. My pride and joy!
  21. Having just read about a guy being shot at this last week in Main (over the freeway) scares the hell out of me. It is bad enough getting out of bed at the crack of dawn, but to have to worry about your safety too is wild. Anybody riding up to the Engen in the am from Broadacres area - let me know as I would much rather ride in a large group. Other option is to drive to the ride!
  22. I just entered a handful of races over the next 6 weeks and was shocked at the prices! The Engen league only costs a cup of coffee once a week! They don't have timing, but still intense!
