  7. Exactly, this seems to only point to one thing for me.
  8. Hey Lou, My boss man & his group ride( Mr Price) are riding offroad the next few days, so it won't be good for you. Sorry for that.
  9. Ok, just spoke to ABSA bank(fraud hotline), gave them all the details, and they say they cannot do anything, as its a civil matter. They did tell me however that nothing has gone into the account as yet, suppose no one has been caught out yet, which is a good thing. They did give some hope in that the Police are interested in stamping these sorts of fraud out.
  10. Ok so I called the cops & ABSA bank about this And they said I must come in with all the info I have. So got an appointment with a detective this afternoon and the bank at a later stage. Hopefully something can come of this Seems to still want to sell me this bike, just got another txt asking me to send my cash so he can send me the Bianchi. Muppet
  11. It needs to be on a national scale, make people more aware of it and whats actually occuring. It could be on the radio/ TV/ newspapers etc. The percentage of cyclists that are aware of these events taking place must be very low. People will walk into LBS stores blistfully unaware of where the bike could have come from. The proper procedures in taking details from these people bringing 2nd hand bikes into shops needs to be enforced.
  12. The worst thing about this, is not that this guys bike has been stolen(thats bad enough as it is), but rather that we all sit here complaining that we are getting hi-jacked left right & centre, bikes stolen from properties, its not safe to ride any where without fear of attack. So what are we as individuals or as a collective actually doing about this, the answer is nothing really. People complain that they don't want to share info, give details or serial nos. etc, but are more then happy to just get the old insurance payout and forget about it, it's absolute bullshite. If we don't try doing more, then it can and will only get worse. It really saddens me that we even have to put up with this.
  13. Well there you have it
  14. A few choice question would help, and getting peoples ID and information, If they cant produce this then the shop should not take the bike on its books. We all would agree it would be difficult but we need to start somewhere with stamping this out.
  15. He must be rubbing his hands in glee thinking he has had so many equiries - Some choice words come to mind for this Tjop.
  16. Oi, hi-jacking my hi-jacked bike. Not very nice, he told me it was mine. Any other suggestion on what to do with their bank account & name - Do you go to the police as well?
  17. Do you think they will do anything? They even sent me his "name" too
  18. This gets strange, they replied to me from two different phone Nos & they sent me their ABSA bank details. What to do now?
  19. Thats correct , sorry should have said that, not sure if they buy in 2nd hand bikes off the street though. Weren't they in Shauns old shop for a bit? See what I'm saying, they don't have the marketplace to sell off these stolen bikes. Have you been to Andres yet? Would be interested to see whats there.
  20. Seems very suspect the day that he gets outed, then the account gets suspended. It would be interesting if someone else could go check out the store
  21. Its looking even more dodgy now. I will still maintain it till I die, there are 100% guarenteed guys on The Hub that are involved with this. I bet if you went to that shop you would find many people bikes, possibly they are syndicated with other scum in other provences and they just ship the bikes around and mix & match parts to different bikes.
  22. I know the Urban Cycles shop, thats run by Shaun( sound bloke), who used to be Shauns Power Cycles. I think with Daves its more a "trade-in "bike, I also doubt he would want to jepodise his 30 +++ year reputation going down the drain. Its the guys that deal specifically in 2nd hand bikes and low end new ones that are involved.
