  1. I did the same thing a while back , so hoping this thread can clarify this for anyone.
  2. He is suggesting just that, "a complete bike from Kiwi could come in at R10 000". A custom bike build will generally be way more costly then a complete bike.
  3. Thanks Just seen that same picture, was looking for a bit more of an explanation as to whats going on.
  4. Just wanted to know what the difference between all the front derailleurs that you can get. Ive tried a search and couldn't find a specific topic for this. You get a Top Pull & Bottom Pull - From what I know this refers to how the cable routing is on your specefic make of bike. ie: If the cable runs along the top tube you would need a Top Pull and if your cables run under the bottom bracket you need a Bottom Pull. Which gets me to my question, What does the Top Swing & Bottom Swing refer to, and what are the differences and advantages of one over the other? Ive asked my boss( he has ridden Cape Epic, J2C, Sani2C ) and he didnt even know there was a difference, Ive known that there are differant types of derailleurs available, but how do you know which to go for?
  5. Wow, the power of The Hub is now universal. Nice one Hopefully this gets sorted
  6. Very nice, carbon too? Crazy that no one in Jozi has bothered to get back to you though. Dangle is a good option, did you try him?
  7. Furry Muff Its now giving me some doubt.
  8. I wonder what the brake/ rotor company says about such a high profile failure, could this not to damage to ones credibility. How many people that are riding the same brakes might be now doubting them, I know I would. Reading the guesstimates of failure, it could be a serious problem.
  9. Good point, ... "a bad workmen always blames their tools." Possibly just an accident
  10. Just did the same conversion, the same way, with the same tyres and with Stans on Mavic rims. I can say it wasnt to hard to get the tyres to seat(soapy water) and pumped the first time, they did go flat after three days, but that was cause I was away and couldn't top it up. When I did it again, I added a little extra Stans, bombed them and voila. I didn't bomb them all the way hard, but rather pumped them with a foot pump to about 3 bar, and they have been that way for over a week or so, very little if any air loss. No explosions. I can only assume it was the tyre levers that have done something to the bead.
  11. As with motor racing, are they not testing things prior to such a massive event. Putting everything through its paces so that extreme conditions are accounted for and any eventuality
  12. Either way it should not have happened. All these top mechanics etc etc. still you have a problem. Surley they test for these sorts of issues before a race?
  13. I would rather get the Trance now. Will they not swop the fork & shock when you buy the bike now and pay a difference? Have you looked at the older model Trance?
  14. I would still say a phone call is be better suited.
  15. Did you try to call ? Not to say they service hasn't been shite, some people need a bit of verbal persuasion.
  16. Thats the one, just checked out their website(nice website too), Its a UK mag
  17. Is that the name of the other magazine at CNA, "What Magazine" My brother in law sends me the MTB Australia mags when he remembers, great quality mags
  18. + 1 Million. This is a major problem, saw it in the flesh yesterday and it wasnt a pretty sight.
  19. So there is the MTB UK & Mountain Biking UK(two differant mags?). Is this correct, so which would you recommend ?
  20. Yeah, I've got a subscription(with the winning entry), but sadly its done in a day or two Best local magazine by far, I need another for the rest of the months toilet time
  21. Thats one of the ones I saw, had a key chain freebie this month. Is that better value for money then the cheaper one?
