  1. Its strange how one of the guys I ride with, has reverted to a hardtail 26" bike. He convinced me to go with the full suspension. He is 36.
  2. So true, although I shouldn't generalise. It is more being uneducated then being stupid, maybe its a bit of both.
  3. Kinda like a Toyi toyi, seems to be the only way government listen, maybe burn some tyres while youre at it.
  4. Amazing how politicians twist things in turn for votes, nevermind the real reason the trains are out of service, the voters are as stupid as the people they are voting for.
  5. What a muppet !! What was his reasoning behind not wanting to lay charges?
  6. Exactly, I bet a lack of experienced & quailified train engineers being the problem
  7. This is true, but unfortunatly no more will be built. Surely they could see the benefits of getting commuters onto bikes? Oh wait, this is Africa, no logical thinking happens in Government.
  8. Exactly, they need more then luck, maybe divine intervention. Nothing will change, it just gets worse.
  9. Things are so so, been having a hectic time the last two months, having to look after my very sick father. So not getting to ride so much
  10. lol, ok. How have all your injuries healed up, especially your hand?
  11. They were recently setting up sting operations in the Netherlands with tracking units(gps)in the bikes to combat this and get to the ring leaders. No such luck for our cops to initiate something.
  12. Maybe get these thieving bastards to change thier ways by offering them jobs of trail maintanence or as trail guards. Just a thought, maybe turn this into something positive
  13. I personally think they are being stripped & resprayed, parts fitted to other bikes, or parts swoped around. Parts sold on the hub, gumtree etc. Some will be to order, some will be opportunistic. Ive not heard any stories of guys actually being offered a stolen bike on the side of the road or something, a laptop maybe. Otherwise they end up in the townships, like the one guys Bianchi.
  14. Of course there are buyers out there, this is becoming way too common place. Its Africa, I suppose we have to put up with it. Nothing can or will be done without the back-up of the Police. Otherwise you will be the criminal for defending yourself. I would love to see the crime stats on this sort of thing
  15. Is there no way of possibly paying people to look out, kinda like a "biker guard"
  16. Where does it end? We are already prisoners in our own homes, places of work, schools, etc etc. Now you're made to feel this way while trying to enjoy the outdoors, its not right. I didn't move back here to have to feel like this, the excuse that this is Africa is bullshite. Unfortunately nothing will happen and this sort of thing will only get worse and this scum gets more & more brazen.
  17. Makes me so mad reading these stories.
  18. Just had some friends move there recently(there garden backs onto G-spot) and have just taken up MTBing. I hope things like this happening dont put them off.
  19. So Parcel Force is the only free option then, cause I was only offered DHL for R560 extra.
  20. Surely something can be done. How sad Time for some vigilante justice, the cops are useless & dont give a hoot.
  21. Just placed an order last night, I got free shipping with Parcel Force. I hope thats the way to have gone. I also noticed no UPS service offered, or for an xtra R562 I could go via courier. I went with the Parcel Force option. As far as I remeber Paqrcel Force is nothing to do with the Post Office in the UK.
