Ive dedicated 3 days this holiday to learning bike maintanence, then I've also organised a day to be spent at their workshop with my local mechanic to learn.

Which websites are better for checking this out(online mechanics)? Im always nervous just playing around with this, I think Im gonna cock something up. Its something Ive got too learn how to do properly

What did your coach say about saddle physics, some help for the weekend warrior & occasional race snake? What was his take on it(expertly speaking). Its a game of patience, waiting for the seat to eventually break in too. Comfort cannot be related to cost, and vice versa.

Its taken me a year of testing to get to the right saddle( I hope) Been on the Fizik Gobi for a year and it didn't work for me, tried the Selle Italia SLR Gel, again that didnt work. Then had my butt measured(seat bone) which is always a good idea, and realised that I should rather be on the wider saddles, so it was back to my old(6-7 year old) Specialized V- saddle, which felt like a cloud to sit on, now Ive tried and tested the Specialized Phenom Comp Gel and found that this is the one for me, so they hunt continues, so far its stretched to Oz to find the one I want.

Poor bikes, wasting away. I would think there are lots of these types of bikes wasting away

While commuting in London , and having just changed over to cleats about two weeks before I was still getting the hang of it. I was doing a track stance at the traffic lights which seemed to be taking ages to change when I moved in front of the cars waiting and turned the wheel slightly , lost the balance and fell right in front of the cars as they were pulling off, and almost got crushed. While lying there with a bumper above my head I still could not get out the cleats, I had to be helped up. Not such a good start to the day

At least they are cutting the verges, we in Durbs have been told there is no more money in the municipality pot, and from now on you must cut your own verges & sort out the vacant plots yourselves. Unlucky with all the punctures though
