Thanks guys, I ride with one or two ass magic samples in my back pocket when I do long rides. As soon as there is a need for chamois cream its best to have some on hand. There is nothing worse than waiting. Clear/photochromatic glasses are also really handy to have, without them the eyes take a beating form the dust and wind during the night,

It's a tricky one, it is the first time doing the race so I am not sure what to expect from the water tables in terms of nutrition. I originally wanted to shy away from using them as much as possible as I can see myself faffing around with and wasting a lot of time.

I just had a strange interaction with a seller selling a well priced road bike, he is based up country and I am based in CPT. I submitted an offer via Bike Hub pay, my offer was for the full selling price plus the platform fees. The seller initiated a private conversation and requested that he’d prefer an eft as he is not comfortable with Bike Hub pay. As the bike is unseen and he has one or two questionable reviews I’m definitely not willing to proceed. If you’re not prepared to follow through with the payment function don’t make it an option…

Yip, there’s a couple of mm’s of clearance. It was good in of of my training ride, compression results in linear movement. The reason for the tight clearance is that I am running x2 1 litre bottles in the main triangle.

I also started in 1D and no one wanted to work, I remember things starting very differently and it was very slow up until Edinburgh drive. There were maybe 3/4 guys on the front the whole ride. Very frustrating not getting the sub 3!

I am pretty sure that you are correct as the size of the batches will be closely monitored due to Covid and any late seeding would affect this but I was hoping otherwise! Hopefully I can find an entry for sale with a reasonable starting time.

When doing a substitution do you know if you receive the original entrants seeding or do they re-seed you according to your own seeding?

I have a set of these on my bike so I would also be interested to find this out. I am considering replacing them with something a bit wider is the internal diameter of the rim is only 22mm and any weight saving by replacing them would be a bonus. It would be interesting to weigh them but I don't feel like talking the tires and cassette off.

I wouldn't say that there is too much choice in SA, perhaps you are onto something rather having fewer brands that offer a higher level of service and support. But it is frustrating when you see an international product launch or the pros riding something than you can't get your hands on locally.
