  1. Doing the Charity Ride for the Helping Hands trust. If you feel like lending a helping hand you can donate on the link below, just reference "Chris Cycle Tour" in the comments section https://www.givengain.com/c/helpinghandtrust/donate/
  2. Friday afternoon I went, or tried to go to go to an established bike shop in Brackenfell Cape Town, I never got in as i was left standing at the gate while the staff/owners inside were talking amongst themselves, so I left and went to Chris Willemse, where i got good service, No wonder some places always struggle
  3. I never had any problems with the bikes, Merlin Ti, and always had great service from Cecil, try phoning him, I'm sure the holdup is from Litespeed Usa.
  4. I won a Thule backpack in their December newsletter comp, after a mic-up where and when the prize would be collected they couriered it to me and man that's an awesome backpack, So yes some comps are real
  5. Carbon MTB Bar snapped nowhere near any clamp on my 3rd ride with it. Seweweekspoort in 2006 at 34km/h, nothing on my bike will ever be carbon again
  6. On hardtail now but had a Merlin Works 4.0 large Fox F100 fork XT groupo at 11.8kg
  7. Hi If your steerer on MTB fork is too short due to changing frames or whatever reason. What would be the best option, I have found these on the net, is there any safety issues? http://www.jensonusa.com/store/product/ST308F01-Zoom+Headsup2+Steerer+Extender.aspx?sc=FRGL or http://aebike.com/page.cfm?action=details&PageID=30&SKU=SM1977
  8. Use the split calculator as a guideline, if you climb slower than the split you break yourself to get to the top of the hill in a certain time then have no energy to ride the flats or hang on to the bunch, rather lose some on the hill and make it up on the flats or hang on to your bunch. The proble is there is enough clims so if you cant climb forget about a sub-three
  9. Depends if you want to race or finish, finish, you can use the polar program and make sure you train and ride in the right HR zones, racing go to a specialist Ti-ny2009-11-16 05:58:11

    Tread Mag

Please note this post is not aimed at Sean and the mag, I just wanted to know if I should blame the post office for being slow, or that my mag was stolen by the neighbours emu kid. I have sent a mail to info@treadmag.co.za to ask the question as well but thought i might get a faster response on the hub, which I did. Read my first post again, not accusing anybody of anything, just asking a question. Don't attack me because you can't read and feel the need to play the hero.

    Upgrading

Upgrade the fork, CWC look at the Reba they have on special, a good fork makes the ride a lot better and then look at the wheels and might have to look at rear mech and shifter as i'm not sure if you have 8sp or 9sp
