  1. I always cycle through the harbour side, as I mainly do training rides by myself, so i used the cycle lanes until I can get to the harbour....never have problems with security, always people roaming around there so rather safe...only downside is crossing all the railway lines. I must admit it really sucks not being able to cycle everywhere like we used to....just glad you ok as it could have been worse.
  2. Why did he do it? What gains did he get from doping? Clearly you can win a race without doping...so far I think Cadel is the only one as the rest all were caught due to doping at some stage...lol...
  3. What is the difference if the race is 10k or 100km? Cleats help with pedal stroke 'push/pull' so performance wise it is better...also why would you fall over? I find cleats to improve handling on technical sections as you can throw the back around easier etc....you must be a serious knob if you fall over all the time...but then again you learn by falling, so id rather fall and look stupid for a few races than looking stupid for life using toe clips or normal pedals.
  4. Not even one security guard or Sanpark member who had seen anything? This really sucks! Next thing they will be waiting up in the mountain....CT is becoming a crime hotspot...
  5. I enjoyed this event Racing was hard, and pace was fast.

  9. Someone asked me to post the following event: 2KEEPABREAST MTB CHALLENGE EXCITING NEWS! We have added a 16,5km route! So if the 43km & 30km feel a bit too far and the 5km is not challenging enough, this distance is for you! If you are still struggling to decide which distance to enter, here is some more information about the various routes: The 5km is suitable for children and loops around the Overgaauw Estate grounds. This route is easy and very safe and offers interesting sights on the farm. The 16,5km begins with a 4km climb from the starting point to the top of the Bottelary Hills and then splits away from the 2 longer routes. From there it's all flat roads and downhill along vineyard pathways for an enjoyable and easy ride. The 30km offers the rider a moderate challenge of renosterveld jeeptracks and farm roads, rewarded by lovely scenery and stunning views. Besides the challenging 2km climb and two singletrack sections of 650m and 1.5km, the route is not difficult and will suit most experienced riders. The 43km is an extended version of the 30km route which covers renosterveld jeeptracks and farm roads, five singletrack sections of 650m, 1.5km, 900m, 1.9km and another 1.5km, and a challenging 2km climb. This is the most difficult route and is only recommended for accomplished and fit riders. If you haven't entered yet, click below to enter now! And remember for every 4 entries you get one entry for free, so tell your friends! See you on the 27th of October at Overgaauw Wine Estate, Stellenbosch. Bring your friends and family and join in the fun! http://www.stbb.co.za/# Please use chrome/firefox if you have trouble viewing the ticketing system. 10. I have not received an sms this week to say Wednesday was cancelled, my friend had to notify me....can you please check the list again if I am on it? (Johan Bester)
  11. that is a sweet vid!
  12. Probably one of the worst named bike brands ever and there is also a few other which I don't want to mention...it just doesn't make sense, rather name your bike 'Apple' or 'Pear' or something as it even sounds more appealing
  13. +1 I stop at times and times I go over...depending if it is a 4-way crossing or a 3-way....I don't see the point of needing the stop at 6am on a Sunday morning when there is no cars on the road....this is one of those debates where you won't get anywhere....as we already got a bad name, there will also always be someone who cycles through a red robot so we will always be branded in that way no matter what.... So for stopping at every red robot, *hi 5* like there is one child in the class who always puts a apple on the teachers desk, there is people who stop at red robots when cycling...but the rest is just there to do as they please...
  14. I have been using futurelife over a year already and have not had any problems yet?

    KILLARNEY

Agree'd, but if you don't want to contend for the sprint why not move out of the way to let faster riders through rather than making it dangerous by blocking the racing line?
  21. Well put it this way, let the bad individuals burn! Fact is there will always be robberies where a 'plakkerskamp' is...
  22. Disagree....if an order is over an certain amount shipping is free....I ordered a wheelset online, the customs was R1700...but I still saved R4000 from normal SA pricing Merlin cycles is the cheapest with their groupsets.
