  1. used Halo....gave it to my dad...I just hate the sweatband idea....feels like my head cant breathe
  2. The coffee shop idea is awesome....cycling from Northern Suburbs to Chapmans and back up Suikerbossie...get a coffee...then cycle home...Kinda cool where it is.
  3. EXACTLY!! But when I got used to it....it makes a big difference...on flat sections etc...I can pull away from the 26er's with ease. Honestly i think if you haven't tried a 29er for at least a month, you won't know what to comment.
  4. The 29er was difficult in the beginning on short steep climbs...I got past that and can now do them, as there was a few at the Gravel Travel...so it means I got stronger. It also helps my road cycling a lot!!
  5. I must admit that Medal is of superb quality....I loved every thing.....entry was a bit expensive, but receiving such a awesome medal...towel and awesome cycling I loved it all!
  6. when were they caught? Any bikes recovered?
  7. I got a MD....however I finish mainly in the top 20... Again it looks like doing the short routes will increase your seeding tremendously....
  8. Its easy, till you buy a 29er....you will never look back. I was also anti 29er...but since I got one....I will never use my 26er again
  9. Agree'd
  10. And you are?
  11. If I run a seeding check I don't get a mountainbike number, only a road race number. However I take part in loads of MTB events...
  12. Why go for Ergo Fit then? I used to use a Large Scott....and then I went to buy a medium Fondriest with a top tube of 55.7.....according to ergofit I need a 55.7 which was spot on, then your stem gets added to that according to the measurements the program gives as your flexibility, etc. Speak to Renay Groustra, he did my ErgoMax setup, he will be able to explain better to you and since he is a pro mountainbiker I am sure he knows what he talks about. Rather get a frame that fits you as mentioned by ErgoFit....your whole setup is worked out according to that system. If you want I can send you his number?
  13. Dude....that last sentence, is everything but Neils Wheels....
  14. I didn't shoot him down...I just think that is mainly the problem with bike shops...they always try 'catch' you into situations like that....honestly if you need to go according to the warranty booklet in everything you will have to look at your bike from the couch.
  15. Awesome! may they get pushed down Table Mountain
  16. How will specialized know if you build the bike yourself or by a bike shop? What if you used to work fr a bike shop and can build bikes? According how I understood it it means the frame as a whole package, not the bike...otherwise it would have set something like 'Build up of bicycle only allowed by a authorized Specialized dealer...' Maybe the specialized concept store just wanted to build it so in case of any problems they will take blame and replace it right there so it doesn't have to go through the whole process? But something I read in that warranty claim now at the bottom is going to have loads of people on diets.... "Riders approaching 250 pounds in weight should not ride any bicycle equipped with Specialized-branded composite seat posts, handlebar stems, or handlebars...."
  17. haha...im game! Just something about the Battaglin bike....comes with Campaq record....but look at that ugly saddle? Also the seat post clamp is the wrong way around?......did anyone perhaps 'LOST' a Battaglin roadbike?
  18. It was found on a site like that all it said was " DONT buy cheap chinese frames, found this on yaycycling warning of these cheap light frames stick to a well known brand..."
  19. Imagine owning that still in boxes brand new....the value..mmm
  20. why dont we post all the broken carbon frames here? I just took the pic as it was found...
  21. Got this from FB from Mr. Ray Cox page Why you shouldn't buy a cheap chinese carbon frame....buy the real deal...this looks like a Dogma replica
  22. Cycle Centre in Edward Street, Bellville, runned by Lourens Calitz, he is a awesome mechanic....used to race as well.
  23. Just posting what the email said....
  24. Got this email yesterday about another seeding run.... "MEMBERSHIP & NEXT SEEDING RUN The next seeding run is set to take place tomorrow, after which the new season's numbers (and specifically the new MTB numbers) are posted to everyone in this batch. The old blue seeded numbers are no longer valid." Let see how this one works out....kinda interested to see what my MTB seeding is going to be.
