  1. Thanks for the input much of what siggie says is my experience but the input really does help make decisions siggie if I may ask what is the weight of your bike I take it it is a large and you are running full XT wheels?? My anthem is 12.4 ish does anyone know if there are Morewood test bikes in Cape Town
  2. I have being weighing up a change from Anthem to an Epic and then Morewood mad put the Zula into my head has anyone made the change from an Anthem (2008 3.5 travel and 72 degree head) to the Zula or Epic any comments I do the odd race and want to get into stage racing must admit am comfortable on the Anthem but a change is due..
  3. Hey Morewood mad I was looking at the specs for the Zula the front fork seems very relaxed does this affect the speed and climbing ability of the bike but I get the idea that you can enjoy the trails more but I dont want to be buying a Trance. I have a 2008 Anthem with the old shock position and the aggresive head angle 72 degrees so the Zula seems very relaxed But I see the reviews are great. I have a brand new Reba team to fit to whatever I get, I would nt be the racing snake type so this could be the one
  4. the Zula is another option so I'll add that into the mix and those bottechias are also quite good looking but I would need a tst ride I like that single pivot on the zula looks nice n easy to keep clean
  5. I have a giant anthem 1 how does that compare to the specialized epic the alu version I took the carbon one for a spin to get a feel for the brain, I was quite impressed they offered me a new alu frame for 16k so how does the epic compare to the x1 which would be my instinctive choice I'm quite keen on the racing aspect and want to get into some stage racing any comments...
  6. The fox is generally a little more to service, I wanted a remote lockout and I didnt hear good things about the device on the fox and lastly I wanted to try dual air. I find the reba soaks up the bumps a lot better. The Reba seems to be more tuneable I weigh 101kg so I can set the sag and still get the benefit of soaking up the bumps. I can also extend to 120mm if I need. I got a good deal at 4200 from my lbs wth remote pushloc, Fox is way more expensive So as you can see I feel there are loads of benefits for my situation. I put the fox onto my HT so I get the best of both.
  7. finally after fiddling around I realised that the pushloc lever cable had about 1 mm play so the lockout was just shy of engaging, anyway now its working properly and now I can get down to setting the floodgate. went in the forrest today and the the reba team is a fine piece of kit.
  8. I have fiddled with that floodgate and I cant seem to tell the difference between it being locked out and unlocked am I missing something I am doing it in a stationary position so I thought maybe I am exerting to much force. I am comparing the lockout to a Fox is that incorrect measure.
  9. I have taken delivery of the reba team shock and want some info on setup. I have done a basic setup but am a little confused about the lockout and the floodgate settings. I had a fox FL 100 with lockout and was surprised that the reba doesnt actually have a full lockout so you still get a bit of movement. I understand the + and - air settings but as I understand the FG has about 18 clicks and if it is all the way couter clockwise than effectively there is full bypass even when the pushloc is engaged. I have scanned the net but would like some local advice and possible a link or expl. on a good setup regime I think at current settings of 135+ and 130 - its soaks up the bumps great but was a little disapointed with the lockout.
  10. Hi Crasher I went through exactly the same dilema as you with colours and shock type sid/reba race or team I spoke to my tech buddy and he advised on the reba. then I was in 2 minds about the team or race version. spoke to the guys at the shop and gave them the option to match CWC at 4200 I looked at the CRC option but you should at 17 % vat the LBS matched CWC and I got the pushloc with floodgate added in the deal and delivered the same day what a beauty getting it fitted in the morning. apparently the reba is more rigid and versatile. my 2 cents worth. bottom line squeeze the lbs and colours can always be changed I would also have prefferred the black mine came with extra black and gold decals.
  11. after each ride I normally spray a touch of ptfe spray at the base of the stanchion and give a couple of pumps to draw out dirt around the seals seems to work well
  12. what did your service on the fork cost if I may
  13. I had a look using the search but could find anything except this topic anyway if some body has some advice on which is better I am now looking at the team version fork as it black box motion control. I asked at Bridge cycles and even they didnt know, is there a difference.
  14. I've been looking on CRC for a Sid race shock what is the difference between a poploc and a pushloc system I thought they were one in the same although price on CRC shows a big difference
