  1. Woodstock Cycleworks also do it - mainly commuter style. Or google Cape Town bicycle hire - lots of companies that collect and deliver.
  2. I've tried to interest a few guys down here about the idea before - I was going to call it "Heavy Metal". There's also the Camissa Classic Race held every month, but I avoid that 'cos it tends to be young bucks who swish their Viners and LeJeune's through red traffic lights and around blind corners.
  3. The thing is, the shop's so tucked away around the back there, I reckon the guys could sit with blowtorches and angle grinders for an entire night without anyone noticing anything. Maybe CWC should put really ***, cheap bikes near the front door; the idiots will grab the first things that come to hand and still think they've struck gold.
  4. We weighed some old bikes the other day - man, a 6-speed Raleigh outweighed everything else by a long shot! I think the "racing bike" came in at around 15kg. That'll be good training for ya.
  5. + 10 000. Littering cyclists freak me out beyond words.
  6. Mountainbikers! This is why we roadies just ignore each other. Much easier.
  7. What are we discussing?
  8. Gosh. Good golly gosh. Yowza. Wowza.
  9. Give CWC a test: see if Chris Junior can get it to you at some obscure address, like "second Marula tree after the split in the road to Tweebuffelsmeteenskootdoodgeskietfontein".
  10. No guesses as to which Hubber is self-employed...

Chow Rennies on the day. I figured this when the medics gave me Rennies in Coke when I started cramping at Smitswinkel one year. Had a couple more of these rescue remedies on the way through and suddenly got a major second wind from Camps Bay. So I ate 5 Rennies on the route last year and managed to get all the way clean and clear.
  12. There's always some SOB who parks in the cycle lane ...
  13. Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooly sh*t! Only a cyclist roadie can know what it feels like to do this speed ... but not when you're lying on your tummy. Not down Du Toits kloof pass either. Not passing trucks.
  14. Just in case you don't know but - being on this thread - would want to ... On Friday 23rd of August, at Woodstock Exchange, the Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN) invites you to a unique Vintage Bicycle Auction. We are presenting 14 fabulous bikes, which have been fixed up and customized in cooperation with Woodstock Cycleworks and Ubuntu Bikes. From 4 pm there will be live music, beers, braai and bikes, and at 5 pm the auction begins. Come, and make sure to get hold of one (or more!) of these brilliant beauties! Visit our event website at http://benbikesauction.org/
  15. I love the looks I get. They're worth the ride just in themselves.
  16. I have to think Ernesto Colnago must have the biggest ego of anyone, anywhere. There's not a millimetre of bike that doesn't carry some branding. He's definitely not a "less is more" kinda guy.
  17. Why is Hairy's sack yours? Guys, anything you're not telling us here?
  18. Bugger. Now I look like I've been cutting onions again. The dolphin does seem to be looking for help, same as the fox with the bottle on its head comes straight to the human in the other video. But I so wish we didn't cause the problems in the first place.
  19. In February of 2012, in what is believed to be the largest single car transaction in the United Kingdom, a Ferrari 250 GTO sold for over £20 million (approx. US$31.7 million).[12] In May 2012 the 1962 250 GTO made for Stirling Moss became the world's most expensive car, selling in a private transaction for $35 million to communications magnate Craig McCaw.[13]
  20. Bwahahaha! That's a good friday thought.
  21. I wonder if this link will come through ... get the tissues ready though, ok? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1406862426203629
  22. Ag no! Is today's fight fizzling out already? Or is it on another thread?
  23. Did he get hurt, or was the unicycle damaged in any way?
  24. Did you pray to God while doing so, or have you no God? Please elaborate at length on either position ...
