  1. more than once he referred to the chasing 'pentalon'. what a kn0b
  2. hear hear. What a complete kn0b that american commentator is - he can't even say peloton, he kept referring to it as the 'pentalon'. FFsakes! I couldn't believe what I was hearing.....KeithB2010-05-12 08:26:25
  3. yep, using risers and that's the problem - can only get the brake & shifter to a point. Sure I can cut the grips and put bar ends on, but then not enough room really for my hands without being permanently and fully on the shifter 1/3rd.
  4. Had my first ride yesterday after installing new SRAM Twister shifters ? which BTW I just LOVE ? a really good move, should have done it loooong ago, I can immediately see why those who have moved to twisters never go back to triggers. Anyhow, my only problem is that there is now not enough ?real estate? on the bar to accommodate barends. Is the only solution a new & longer handlebar? Or has anyone had any experience of those clever ergo grips that incorporate barends, and so maybe effectively extend the bar length a bit?? can anyone give me some advice?
  5. are these X.0's compatible with Shimano? can you simply remove the rapid fire's and install these? may need new cables of course, but otherwise it is just a straight cockpit replacement?
  6. +1 Also still waiting for 2009 licence.+2 Also still waiting for 2009 licence.
  7. Guys, Juan serviced both my mtb's last week - and I am impressed! Great job, good price (especially given that he collected and delivered) - there is nothing to complain about at all. My bikes came back looking brand new - and riding like brand new as well (pity I had to ride in the mud over the weekend - but that's another story...) I would definitely recommend Juan, for sure ...
  8. can someone please point me to the thread/s where treatment for roasties is discussed. the breedtsnek descent notched up a score yesterday :-(
  9. I've been wearing contacts for around 30 years now - running, cycling etc. with no problems. Just always wear glasses to keep the wind and dust down a bit. If you are a mtb'er carry a small bottle of saline in your camelback - and on important races I also carry a spare set of disposables with me just in case
  10. or ANY mtb trails in the Witbank / Middelburg / Loskop area? Listen, I'm desperate: wife needs to visit her sister in that area for girlie talk/marriage counselling/ husband bashing / etc. No place for me to be - ideally I want to be out riding somewhere while they get on with it ...
  11. does anyone know if there are still mtb trails at Botshabello, just past Middelburg, Mapoooomalanga?
  12. it happened to a guy on our club ride this past Sunday - first time I have even seen one of those links fail.
  13. I think this is true of all Touchline mags - MensHealth, Runner, etc. Often just the US articles with oftentimes NO attempt at all to even try and give a local flavour. Bicycling is the last one I have been hanging in with - but that's about to bite the dust, can't see that I will renew .....
  14. I've ordered a wrist- and a dog-ice from them on seperate occasions, and agree - fantastic service all round!
