  1. Yes, I heard it. I risk saying the dreaded t-word! Oh what the hell, what a tjop!
  2. bwahahahaha
  3. I seem to recall that changed as a result of an era of bad experiences. I just looked up their website - "99% of their products are sourced locally". Lessons learnt!!!
  4. +1
  5. Yep, the mud doesn't hang around long enough in SA! Maybe it's time to put a SA spin on cyclocross - smoothish single track and jeep track over distance is what we could offer...
  6. Just built this baby, my 2nd cyclocross (the 1st one is a more traditional 'cross). I decided to try a more radical approach to suspension after trying the Crater Cruise route on a normal 'cross, and having rattled myself half to death over the 100-odd kilometers. I'm about to give her a test ride to see how this will work.

    audax 2011

Tarryn Petzer coordinates audax at aurasan@global.co.za. Unfortunately audaxsa.co.za is pretty cr@ppy What are you thinking of getting yourself up to?
  8. Geez, those are HEAVY tubes!!! They ought to be pretty much bulletproof!
  9. Yep, she doesn't care about the weight, and so rides them on all her bikes these days! Those thorn proof tubes sound interesting - where did you get them?
  10. That's exactly what my wife says. She tries to stick to busy routes, rides with (heavy) puncture proof Schwalbe tyres so she has less chance of being stuck fixing a flat somewhere unfriendly when she rides alone, but says she can't live cooped up just because she's female. What a messy state of affairs we find ourselves in when we're no longer free to do what we love.
  11. That pedal stroke image remains quite an eye-opener Willehond!
  12. Hey, it's always great to meet new people! The more the merrier! You're right Crasher, that bloody wire did dampen the spirits a bit, although it didn't seem to slow FowlStArt much not having front brakes! Looking forward to the next ride!
  13. Wow, reading PaulTCR, maybe my new year's resolution would be to measure annual mileage, maybe not in as intense detail though!
  14. Getting all the locals together ultimately increases our options for group rides and routes!
  15. Holy cr@p, that's a serious amount of going in circles!!! Must take a serious toll on your mind after a while! Very well done for doing that kind of distance under those circumstances!!!
  16. Is it open to interested parties perhaps? From where to where?
  17. Hey, that sounds fun! What was it?
  18. Did the 320Km charity event on 6 Dec (Drakensberg to Durban), but with only 3 weeks training, and yet felt very strong! Last year I trained for 3 months and yet battled from about 150Km onwards. Less is clearly more!
  19. It must be your pic Chavez that got you this 'invite'! The rest of our pics/avatars didn't quite cut the mustard for her as we didn't get emails!!!
  20. I'm ok for 16:00 as well
  21. Cool, I'll bring mudguards for some slip-sliding muddy fun!
  22. Sounds great See you 16.30
  23. Can make 16.30 tomorrow, Little Falls. Now what type of MTB? Are you looking for technical or XC riders? Hopefully the latter!
  24. Great idea, but still at work, so too late for today! Are you thinking about doing anything else over the next few days?
