  5. Multiple picks made of old spokes for variety of uses Dude!! are u stealing car's when u not fixing bikes?
  6. Dunno about the Bio-degradable part but u can get it at a spares shop like Midas
  7. Well that Prepsol has got RED #5 in it, when u get hyperactive don't say u weren't warned!! LMAO
  8. Usually any place that does cylinder heads will do it, people are always over tightening their spark plugs and striping the threads
  9. That Prepsol is expensive, I think I paid about R100 for 5 liters. I just use Handy Andy, stuff under the kitchen sink next to the sunlight liquid, sorted
  10. The lbs is gonna let me demo the Avatar
  11. Dude are you sure its installed correctly remember the pointy bit is supposed to face forward not up Dude That's sore ass not dumbass
  12. Which one should I be looking at? Fizik Alianze XM or Specialized Avatar? The Gobi's been killing my butt!
  13. Originally had the saddle fitted using a spirit level but having never used a saddle with the front so high, it became uncomfortable. Move the front end slightly down and it was a bit better. My old saddle was a WTB rocket, with a cutout. Wonder if this is also causing problems?
  14. I've had my Gobi for 2 months now and I'm still not used to it. Here at the 2.5 hour mark into a ride it starts to hurt the sit bones. Been riding 4 times a week, min 1.5 to 4 hours, so not for lack of trying. Is it time to look for a replacement? Get measured up for a Specialized? Think my butt's to big!! 15. Mate of mine built his own light cost about R600 plus all the effort, rather spend the R1000 at http://www.uvequip.co.za for the Majicshine and u can get going this week!!
  16. So the whole idea of running UST systems is to get the tyre pressure down. I weigh about 90kg and if I run my tyres lower than 28psi and i hit a sharp edge I connect my rim. My Crossmarks are rated 30 to 60 psi. Am I in the right neighborhood here or do I need to shave some weight off, to run lower pressure?
  17. They come in really handy in a loose ruck!
  18. Yeah, I cut a hole in the tube, filled it and patched it.Don't bother with a syringe, the hole blocks quick. Have u considered the tubeless conversion? Got video's on youtube (ghetto tubeless) works like a bomb!! You can use any tires, depending on the terrain ur riding
  19. Damn, Charles Bronson is living in Nelspruit!!
  20. This kit is not even a month old. Took it back to the bike shop to get set again on tuesday. The mech who dailed it in again said it was the best he could do. Couldn't understand why it wasn't working properly cause its a straight forward system!! How lame is that!!!! Cycled on Wed and it's still dodgy!? Can't deal with people who dish out those kind of excuses.? Now to find a civilized mech to help me out. Any suggestions? In the Pretoria area??
  21. I will be off to the lbs to sort out this problem, I don't really have an issues with them and if they can't fix it I'll go else where. Thats the way it works, either u know what ur doing or u loose business!!
  22. Aah!! a pilgrim who finally knows everyone (jokes) Time for a change and because of severe short term memory issues. I wanted something with indicators so I can see what gear I'm in!! Cause I forget!! Top end SRAM doesn't have this option
  23. I just recently replaced my complete SRAM system with XT. The lbs tells me that the cables will take a bit of time to stretch and settle in before it gets to 1 click 1 shift. At the moment the shifting is just off and I can seem to find the sweet spot which is annoying! Is this true/accurate? Should i change to sealed cables? Should I get someone else to have a look? All systems are different, am I going to have to continue over shifting to compensate?
  24. AJ check out this thread i posted a while back, I had exactly the same issues https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=82597&KW=crosstrail+fail
  25. Replaced my Judy with a Reba, what a winner!!
