  1. Your paying for the Titanium
  2. So I was offered the option of accepting my money back or accepting the fact that a lighter rim will have less momentum that a heavier one. The advantage would be going uphill. I won't have to drag iron up a hill. Which suits me just fine!!
  3. The Park Tool Blue Book says the crank cap only need push the crank very lightly against the bearing. They recommend 4 inch pounds of torque. Otherwise you cause the bearing to drag and wear by pulling it out of alignment. You should check the Park Tool website. They have instructional video's of all bike repairs. Youtube asswell
  4. I think I've been had!! My mate is freewheeling past me and his hubs are stuffed. With my old wheels I always went past him freewheeling. Always!! I mean maybe the sealed bearings in the Mavic hub are less effective than than the cone type I've got in my old Shimano hubs?
  5. sorry BM please see http://www.epicfail.com/ for action fails!
  6. I was assured that the Crosstrails I bought will increase the speed I freewheel at. This didn't happen, in fact I've slowed down! Does anybody have any experience with this? Do I return them or is it bearings or what??
  7. Whats the plan for interval? How's that work?
  8. Wonderful, maybe I should start gyming
  9. I'm battling with hill climbing at the moment. Did a group ride last night and it was really obvious. Kept up with the front group over all the slightly hilly terrain and the flats, no problem. Got to meet the back markers on the bigger hills. What to do? Riding about 4 times a week at this stage.
  10. I was told at the lbs that I can get ceramic bearings from Bearing Man. Which is where they get them.
  11. Going to the states soonish, how can I get a set?
  12. Fixed the typo Thanks for that chunks, sorry chuck! Crankset is the next project, Got an XT set for R1800, bit of a bargin if u ask me!!
  13. Bought a new wheelset so just swaped the cassette over.
  14. Replaced my own rear cassette yesterday. First time for me. Damn it was easy! Must have taken 10 minutes including the faffing around!!

    Rotors

Got a set of adapters from the lbs yesterday. They convert 6 bolt disks to center lock. Works like a bomb and easy to install. R320 for a pair.
  16. Interesting, what is the bmx tube section used for then? just to seal the spoke holes?
  17. Maybe try running a few winds of insulation tape under the BMX tube to build it up a bit?
  18. Use a pipe cutter not a hacksaw. Nice and neat aswell as straight!
  19. absolutely! I havn't looked back, can't believe I ran tubes for so long. That conversion is really simple. Uses BMX tubes, works so well! Including the R400 saving on rim strips. Won't run tubes again. Tyres are a bit pricey though. I have a UST specific on the back and a Kevlar beaded, normal tyre, both tubeless.
  20. Boom indeed!
  21. Yeah its the shizniz, rode there after heavy rain and it was HEctic! Been back an absolutely enjoyed it. Holla trails in Ballito are excellent , if ur ever down that way
  22. I did that ghetto Tubeless thing I found on Youtube. Totally don't need UST specific rims. Cost so little compared to the Stans kits etc... U unhappy with the Mavics?
  23. Yeah, I'm leaning that way, the mavic's are toast!
