  1. Thanks a mil for the feedback guys, managed a half decent cup last night although the counter was covered in milk and water overflow from the machine when I was done . I'm looking for a milk pitcher I assume a 600ml one should be enough to make two cups of coffee? Any suggestions of places in and around Gauteng, Pretoria even better as I want to tackle this machine this week still. And how much milk should I chuck in the jug? Sorry very newbie questions
  2. Hey Cadence, I bought the coffee from the roasters and I specified that I wanted espresso grind. I'm hoping that my grind is right so I will try get a better tamper. Are there any other possible variables that I'm missing?
  3. Please help me guys. I have this old really entry level machine that I pulled out the cupboard, as I am tired of the stale pods I have recently gotten from Nespresso. I have been doing some homework and I'm struggling to pull the perfect shot. I have made a pretty decent puck and let it run for the apparent "25 sec" time but instead of a shot I almost get a cup full of burnt coffee. Any help would be great
  4. Hi all, So I've got a kiddy trailer to drag behind my bike which has served me great till now, but as the girls are getting bigger they are just teasing each other and bothering each other inside the trailer on our rides. So I want to get those carriers that fit behind the seat but I have a Giant XTC frame that does not have the thread holes next to the bottom of the frame ( next to derailleur) to screw the carrier into. Any advice on brands or after sale part that you could suggest? Thanks
  5. Hi all, I have recently picked up a spiking Heart rate on my Garmin in excess of 230bpm as soon as my speed exceeds about 20km/h. The guys at Garmin guess that it's the static on my clothes. My question is then when layering in winter what do you guys use that does not cause a static issue? Thanks
  6. Yeah, they are busy cutting a trail for a new Mtb park. The opening date has not yet been confirmed but their are some guys helping out with the trails that know what they are doing so its bound to be great fun when they are done.
  7. If I use a spare wheel for the trainer with the same cassette that my normal wheelset has on it, I will obviously wear out my chain quicker that the cassette, so wont that cause me to have to replace my cassette more often on the normal wheel as a new chain only seems to work on a new cassette? If you know what I mean
  8. Hi Guys, Been picking up problems with my Garmin, while riding the weekend on my Mtb my heartrate spikes from 140bpm to 230bpm for about 30 seconds and then drops again. Strangely enough only when my speed increases. so I changed the battery on my strap and it stays the same. I then used the indoor trainer this morning (Road bike) it did exactly the same on a different sensor. Initially I thought interference, but from where? Any ideas? and where is their a Garmin service centre? Thanks
  9. Great thanks
  10. Hi guys, what in your experience has been the quietest indoor trainer to get as our house is relatively small and I need to ride in the wee hours of the morning. Thanks
  11. Excuse my ignorance, Throwup Thursday?
  12. I have started my first singlespeed project so I was referred to Hunter Cycles in Braamfontein. What an awesome shop and friendly bunch of guys. Will def go back and will join for the Jodi night ride when the SS is up and running
  13. Where did you get that handlebar?
  14. Awesome thanks guys
  15. Well I picked an old Hansom up today to use it on the indoor trainer and maybe fit a power tap to it later. But while stripping it I noticed that it is missing the old seat post bolts for the steel frame. I phoned around but no one seems to know where I can get them. My next question is do I kit it out as a single speed and make it pretty, or keep it stock for nostalgia purposes.
  16. Hi All, I need to go up to Louis Trichardt next month on Business and am looking at taking my MTB with to get some training in. Can anyone suggest a lodge to stay in where there are some trails nearby. Maybe even suggestions as to where I can ride. Thanks Wayne
  17. the weight limit worried me to be honest, the web says the weight limit is 80kg which seems a bit little.
  18. great thanks
  19. Thanks guys, only reason I'm using SLX hubs is because I already bought them on a great online special a while back. So I don't want them to go to waste if possible.
  20. Any advice please, I'm upgrading my wheelset on my 29er and I have a few thoughts: 1. Do I buy a new Mavic crossride wheelset which is currently on special. 2. Do I build up a set of Crests on, SLX hubs 3. Do I go for Arch rims on SLX hubs? I weigh 75kg and the LBS said their is no weight limit on any of the wheelset mentioned above.

    Stage Racing

Looks like finding a race to do is the easy part, finding a riding partner is a trickier problem.

    Stage Racing

Hi All, As part of my New Years resolution I would like to do my first stage race this year. Are there any that you could suggest as a starter that I could enter as a solo rider that won't scare me off the multiple day scene? Thanks
  25. As long you dont mind the owner occasionally losing his temper with his workshop staff, screaming, cursing and swearing at them and then picking up a bike and throwing it in the workshop (hopefully not a clients). But the assistants are very knowledgable, helpful and good prices
