  1. Okay I'm talking about when a rider is already coming down a sharp hill and notices somebody else coming up or crossing paths with it, the law of gravity says "Nooooooo!" People refusing to move out the way coming up/intersecting the path do so at their own peril.
  2. Rule No 2. People taking a jump or coming down a sharp incline have right of way, even if it leads into a 2 way dual track. For the simple reason that people coming down can't brake ! (This happened a few weeks ago and 2 lads insisted on coming up the hill and cutting me off after I shouted "Coming through!", almost ended in disaster but no harm done, no one crashed )
  3. Hehe ! I'll make sure to take it easy ... I have a couple of moments where there is no pain at all whilst bending past the 45 degree mark which is encouraging !
  4. Hey Canerat Yeah the op wasn't a huge thing, I just hate the stiffness afterwards, it's like having bad ITB again except your body recovers from it a helluva lot faster ! How long did the stiffness last with you ? It's day 4 now and I'm walking with a little limp, it's turning corners that hurt the most or using stairs, driving is really easy though I think women worried about scarring shouldn't. I think they used that skin glue on me, no sign of stitches and the cut isn't big at all !
  5. Andre from Rushsports too www.rushsports.co.za
  6. Hey Fandacious Yeah it appears to be covered completely by medical, I'm on Discovery Classic Comprehensive. And then I had to pay in R18 for the myprodol which I never used It's day 3 and my leg is still stiff but not as bad as yesterday, driving is pretty easy (Left leg and I drive a manual )
  7. Well, surgery is over and done, it felt great once I started standing, the doc (Mike Barrow) at Sunninghill said it went perfect, and I had no problem walking or using stairs. Day 2 It's pretty stiff but was to be expected ! I'll let everyone know how I feel by next weekend and if I manage to hop on my bike by then
  8. Yeah some might think that a weekend warrior like myself going for the knife after battling with ITB for 2 months + might be a bit extreme but they say there are no reoccurrences of ITB after the snip, which is handy when you're planning on doing 4 day tours or anything hectic ! I'm in Joburg myself, going with Dr Mike Barrow at Sunninghill for the surgery, I'll let everyone know how it goes *gulp*
  9. Hey CaneRat Glad to hear everything went smooth, did your doc advise you that you may have clicking in your knee for a few months ? Did you experience anything different afterwards ? I'm probably going for release surgery on Friday, having ITB in your left leg doesn't help the healing process much when you have to drive around every day ! Who was your doc and where did you go ? Thanks for the updates !
  10. Hey guys Just wanted to find out which bike shop was showing off the Treks at Rietvlei "Try before you buy" this year. I tried a Trek EX which had some great pedals and forgot to take note of which ones they were once I was done with the ride ! Any help would be appreciated !
