  1. Ah well I'm 100% English. My ancestors never threw any grandparents or their children in a concentration camp, shot at them or burned down their farms. Why are people so small minded? Why can't people just forget history and get on with life? England and France have had their differences in history but I don't hate them or even dislike them. They will be bowing the knee just as Australia did and so will the Bokke. At the end of the day The World Cup will be over, England will remain world champions and we'll all love each other.
  2. Does anyone know what actually happened? I was at the sprogs race with my family on Saturday and there were rumours of a hijacking or something in the parking lot.
  3. Last year I used a similar product to Phedra Cut which had the same ingredients and as a result I became clinically depressed which had to be treated with anti-depressants. It was the worst 6 months of my life. I strongly advise not using weight loss stimulants which affect your central nervous system. Check the warning on the back of the label. I need to loose 15kg and would love to find a shortcut. Cut down on calories, eat healthy food, don't eat after 7pm, drink plenty of water, exercise... you know the drill!
  4. I want to ride from Sandton to Buffelspoort Dam off road. Does anyone have a map?
  5. That's a real shame. We also took another ride out there the week before last and hit lots of dead ends. It looks as though you need to get in from Walkerville. Did you get to the gate of the track which goes up or were the gates/fences etc. at the top of the rocky climb above where they are developing the Eye of Africa?
  6. I rode the 45k and hated it. The course was great but there were far too many unfit/uncompetent people walking their bikes. I would love to go back and ride it again with a small group of mates. What should have taken me 3.5 hours took me almost 5 because I had to join the long queues of hikers with bikes walking down the hills. If you can't ride a bike, don't ride your bike. This is not for the weak willed. Next year please - if you are not a strong rider stay away so that those of us who want to RIDE can be left alone to do so.
  7. The food ran out a couple of days ago... Is it safe to come out now?
  8. Got one. R1200 from The Cycle Hub at Panorama (JHB South).
  9. I once used a technique called the reverse peddle technique... try tying your peddles to your feet and taping your shoes to your crank. The problem I found using this technique is that as my peddles turned my ankles got very twisted and once I was even thrown over my handlebars. Sometimes common sense prevails - other times not. Maybe you should take up a less complicated hobby like stamp collecting. Just remeber to lick the side without the picture.
  10. I'll be busy on Sunday morning otherwise I would have loved to come and meet some more of the guys and gals. Anyway enjoy your birthday, your ride and your breakfast.
  11. 25km across the veld and up the mountain and back. Leave my house at 7am and back by 10:30 - 11:00am. Send me a Private Message and I'll give you my address details. Wilmy2007-05-14 11:32:00

  13. Who gives a frying flock how it looks? If I wanted to look cool I'd ride an anorexic road bike on smooth tar! Unlike the cool roadies I'm avoiding a butt pounding by buying a Thudbuster. Wilmy2007-05-14 06:33:13
  14. Not anticipating an explosion. I've left my coat behind and made for the underground bunker hot on the heels of Mampara.
  15. Any chance of some subtitles?
  16. Ah but then a full susser is no substitute for a hardtail. A hardtail is always going to be faster on a climb and now with a thudbuster I will be able to go even faster downhill too. I can't see why anyone would waste so much on a full susser unless they're used to riding on smooth tar!
  17. Just like you say... a witty saying proves nothing (other than your possibly a clown)
  18. Ok enough is enough (at least that's what my sore butt keeps telling me. I have resisted buying a thusbuster for too long. I am going to buy one before the Magalies Monster or else my butt won't join me on a ride again!!! Where did you buy yours and how much was it?
  19. Remember this... There's no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. If you?re scared of riding because you?ll get cold, simply put on an extra layer. Q. What?s wrong with roadies these days? A. I?ll tell you ? they?re a bunch of sissies!
  20. Sheila (otherwise known as ?the wife?) is attending a netball coaching course on Saturday so I will be looking after my son and won?t be able to ride. I am so, so sorry that I have had to do this but the wife sprang this on me only yesterday but claims to have told me a month ago.Wilmy2007-04-12 02:00:45
  21. Thanks slowpoke, how much can I expect to pay for one? My nearest shop is Cajees and they will try and extract as much cash as they can from me if I don't know how much I should be paying!
  22. Thanks buddy, a Thudbuster is on my butts shopping list!
  23. Amateur was using a seat post suspension device yesterday on her MTB which looked rather interesting. Can users of these please give me the pros and cons of using them and whether or not they are worth the R1K?
  24. Thanks for the great ride guys. I'm not as sore as I expected to be. Will definately be doing that one again!
