  1. How long to bed the brakes in? Km wise?
  2. Anything further on this? Brand new 29er (Elixir's), and on this mornings ride in the rain, people could hear me coming from 50 metres away!!! Sand the face of the pads a bit?
  3. Hey Spaniard!!! Was down for last night to drop the wife and kids off! Did 20kms quickly this morning in the rain, those roads are calling you boy! Flying back on Wed night, but not in your league, "Racing Snake"!!! See you down there, Cheers, TT!
  4. Ok, "I'm not vey bright, but I can lift heavy things!" What does "UST" stand for?
  5. I've found Avnic to be pretty helpful in the past. Everytime I've had hassles or need an upgrade I've just popped in and been helped. Give them a buzz, don't know wher you are, but find out where their local branch is. (011) 2519999 Nathan is one of their technical managers and is quite clued up.
  6. ....When you can do your monthly groceries at the traffic light on the way home. ....When you can pay your traffic fines instantly in cash.
  7. 61kg, 5ft9" with 210mm rotors! ROFL!!!
  8. Eish, no good comments about the bike??? Just when I thought I'd made my mind up! Got a mate who got the Hi Fly Pro and loves it to bits. Came off a Scott Dual 26 and says it feels like he's riding his kid's BMX when he's on the 26 now. Anyway, 26 vs. 29 ain't the debate! Which 29 Dual Sus is! I really like this bike and was 95% convinced. Let me go sit on the cr@pper and think!!!!
  9. Unwritten rule, as I've said before, amongst my mates everything gets divided by 4! TDF was won on a bike that cost 15k!
  10. Dual Sus? With X9 or better, any idea on price?
  11. The other thing different on this bike, on the rear quick release, you have to take the whole skewer out to release the wheel! Is this common?
  12. ROTFL! - BikeMonster!! Let's put it this way, at a dinner on Tuesday night, a certain Mr Liggett was asked which is his favourite bird in SA, and he said it was my wife , so if I send her out, I'm sure she'll generate some good returns!! I hear what you guys are saying, but the frame comes with a lifetime warranty, and I have heard about the poor replacement times, but I think I'm prepared to risk that, as the warrantee has to be honoured on the first owner. Frame OCLV Mountain Carbon co-molded main frame & rear swingarm, G2 Geometry, E2 head tube, ABP, topswing carbon link, 110mm travel Front Suspension Fox F29 RL w/E2 steerer, custom G2 Geometry, 51mm offset crown, lockout force adjustment, 100mm travel Rear Suspension Fox Float RP-2, custom "race tuned", 2-position ProPedal, external rebound; 7.25x1.75" Wheels Wheels Bontrager Race Lite FCC Disc 29, 28 hole Tires Bontrager 29-2, 29x2.1" Drivetrain Shifters SRAM X.9, 10 speed Front Derailleur SRAM X.9, direct mount Rear Derailleur SRAM X.9 Crank Shimano M552, 44/32/22 Cassette Shimano HG8110 11-36, 10 speed Pedals n/a Components Saddle Bontrager Evoke 2, chromoly rails Seat Post Bontrager Rhythm Elite, 31.6mm, zero offset Handlebars Bontrager Race Lite Big Sweep, 17 degree sweep Stem Bontrager Race X Lite, 31.8mm Headset FSA 57 Orbit, E2 Brakeset Avid Elixir R hydraulic disc brakes, 6-bolt; G3 160mm rotors The only thing that worried me was the M552 crank, but who am I kidding, I can lose a kilo or two by having a good dump! As for the rest, what do you guys think? I think I've made up my mind, just looking for some backup!! Don't want to build a bike up. RP2 only has two positions and doesn't lock out completely, but I've ridden one and it's fine. Tubeless conversion and a couple of bar-ends, and the bike will far outperform this weekend warrior!
  13. Ok! If I break my piggy bank, raid my daughters education fund, sell petrol on my company fleet card for cash and send my wife out at night, I can come up with the Ammo for a Gary Fisher Collection Superfly Dual Sus! I haven't seen many threads about this bike and I've been watching for a while now! Good bike or not? (And yes, I will be the d@#s being overtaken and laughed at for his bling bike!)
  14. Newsflash Dr. Calvin Rickson, a Professor of Sports Medicine at Texas A&M University has invented a cycling bra that keeps women's breasts from jiggling and bouncing, and prevents the nipples from pushing through the fabric when cold weather sets in. At a news conference, after announcing the invention, a large group of men took Dr. Rickson outside and kicked the sh!t out of him. (Sorry, can't help you with your spokes! )
  15. Ricky Bobby, In the same boat as you, missed yesterday and today!!!! Next best thing, taking my draught beer machine out to where my mates from the charity ride pop out of the N14 and meet them with a nice cold one at about 10h30!! Pull in if you want!
  16. Had a really sh!t experience at Cajees 4Ways a few years ago (fraud on my credit card) and when I phoned them to inform the manager, he started going off at me and defending his staff! Spent lotsa money since then, but not one cent at Cajees!!!
  17. As I said yesterday, I have had the Torch for a few months now! I think the trick is I don't just exit apps, I open menu and close it completely each time so I don't have them all running in the background. I have had the Storm 2 (crap), 9700 and now The Torch. Loving the Torch, no mistakes!
  18. Yeehah! Thanks Matt! I'm mobile and posting from my Crackberry Torch!
  19. Ok, "Doffie" here again. Tried without the "www", tried with just "m.thehubsa.co.za" and tried with the http, just kicks me straight to normal site. Comes up as "www.thehubsa.co.za". Anything to do with O.S.6 from BlackBerry. I have the Torch?
  20. Mine's in front of a TV, HD PVR get's me through!
  21. Ok, maybe I'm "dof"! I try to go to the mobile site on my BB but it just sends me straight to the normal site? What am I missing??
  22. For the average sized guy, debatable (26" or 29")! For me (1,95m and 102kg's of quivering passion) it's a no-brainer, 29'er!
  23. How much you contributing??? LOL! I'm coming down Friday and would be happy to help out if you don't come right. PM me if you need to, Cheers, Troy
  24. Big Up to him. I passed him on the freeway and he was SMS'ing at the time!
  25. I was asked for some info and being a Noobie to this forum, took me awhile to work out how to upload it, but here is this years rundown! (Our 6th year)
