  1. Aaah, always good to catch up BB! Agreed, the scenery was amazing.. Managed a few snaps on route... The dreaded Mamba switchbacks in the distance! Heading up Mamba!
  2. I'm so glad to hear I wasn't the only one who suffered!!! 7h45 on the bike for the Marathon for me! Hardest thing I've ever done! But kind of proud that I finished it and went back for Day 2 - 45km... Rode it in a group and just had fun... desperately needed that after the sense of humour failure of Saturday!!
  3. Experiencing the same thing slabs... Tingling in my right hand in the pinkie and ring finger! Searched the forums and found it to be a very common thing in cyclists! Think I'll start with set up and see if it improves, if not a specialist like henry newbi recommended!
  4. Almost looks like an XC bike with that long stem patch... might even be good for riding normal, dirt roads... Looks wicked though! Many happy (air)miles
  5. I made the jump from Half-marathons to full last year. I must say I much prefer the longer races! I find its easier to find a rhythm and stick to it. It's completely different racing though! Going back to do short races now, kills me. I'm sure you'll love it!
  6. I rode it in December, what an amazing trail! Those 6kms or so of Singletrack are pure bliss!
  7. Can you drive me home?
  8. In for the Full on the Saturday and the Half on the Sunday! Should be a power weekend! Hoping to get race briefings at the Woodsman again
  9. We really need to get the numbers up, especially the ladies! You need 5 entries on the start line to award prizes and because we only had 3, we got nothing, not even a mention at prize-giving (after being told to wait 3 hours because there would be a medal)! Awesome race, great vibe and wicked route.. But I agree, some issues that need to be ironed out!
  10. Hey RJ, I've done the Voortrekker Monument race a few times, its an awesome race, but it is pretty technical! Some awesome, rocky downhills... Think I may do this one too!!! Always well organised!
  11. I've heard something similar! Let's hope it isn't true! Have heard they may just change the structure of the event?
  12. Keen to give these a try this year... Looking forward to something a bit different!
  13. As mentioned, a big CommenKal fan!!! But loooooove the new ride.. congrats! Waiting on pics of your new girl when she arrives!
  14. What an awesome event... Met some amazing people!!! Managed to snap some pics! Had 3 sunny days and 1 slightly moist day but no issues with mud! The singletrack and downhills made up for every metre we climbed up!!! The start of the HKK climb... On top of the world! Almost at the top...
  15. Done! Wouuld be awesome to hook up for a ride!! Awesome!!! Also in a big group, pls come say hi! See u there!
  16. Got this this morning...
  17. We are staying at Sabie River Camp, will definitely pop past and say hi...
  18. Heard from Max this morning that in the last 2 weeks he's seen about 2 days of sunshine... but we knew this... it's Sabie!
  19. Have heard that same story from everyone I've chatted to MorewoodMad... Luckily I'll be in Plett the day after, will have to find a good bike shop to help me out down there
  20. Nice, also doing the lite...
