I bought myself some Maxxis Crossmarks, the non-ust ones to replace my LUST pair that were due for replacement. Asked the guy who sold them to me what the difference was and he said purely a thinner side wall, but much lighter. Had them on for about 3 months when I raced at Induna... got to some high speeds on a downhill and my front tyre burped/ripped right off the wheel. Needless to say I bailed, properly! Won't make that mistake again!

I've never done the Bulldog. Did the Silverstar last year and it's an awesome race! Takes you through Kingskloof - which is super technical! I believe the Bulldog race is a fast and flat one! So it depends what you're looking for?

Thanks for all the feedback... There definitely needs to be a more controlled way of monitoring who goes into start chutes! Must be frustrating for race organisers! Good point @Morewoodmad - they enjoy the benefits of the water tables at our/organisers expense!

I actually think the Advendurance series uses the same stickers for all races? Which would make it real easy to just arrive and ride! But I saw one guy with the Yellow Mtn Series sticker on so clearly no one is checking the stickers? One specific case I saw, was a pro training a newbie during a race? Is that allowed? The pro's number never showed up on results either?

I agree, some sort of batch entrance inspection would work!

It would be interesting to see how many of you have noticed these people at races? On Saturday at the Nissan race I finished ahead of 5 girls racing together only to find not one of them came up in the results? I know of some that 'train' other people during races but surely they should still enter the race, not just rock up and ride!

What a great cause... Door of Hope does some amazing things so definitely a worthy cause to get behind!
