  1. 1.75 and a nice round 94kg
  2. Seriously Bennie???? 2:30. You and Wendell need to start slowing down and give us youngsters a chance at being in the top 50. It getting ridiculous now, I may have to slap some gears on my bike just so you dont but an hour into me on the next one. Oh and I think we need a CSA ruling on this 650b nonsense it must be an unfair advantage. Haha Well done.
  3. He looked strong when he came past me and La. Damn that sucks. They musta come loose on that sprint down Jan Smuts back to dunkeld. Haha. Coulda been worse you coulda got your tutu stuck in you back wheel again. Yeah I'm still a puppy so I went back to the porch(32:18). OBS nice. I'm gonna wear a cycling top this time. 3x back pockets = 3x quarts. Haha We got SASSC the next day so can't not have a hangover.
  4. I'm not a strong rider so I ran 32:18 and was good for the race. Look it took me 3:57 to finish but had fun riding up that first rock climb past all the gearies pushing. Haha.
  5. That was him. Very very quick. Yeah I also get cramps about 3 hrs into races so I try finish before that. Don't often get it right. Haha. But I still think your gear was a bit heavy for your first marathon. Sorry I didn't hang around at the start, trying to get to the singletrack ASAP.
  6. Stu great result by you dude. I have to admit that I'm sure it is legitimate. I started in E batch and an older guy on a Ti SS came flying past me near the top of that first steep climb and was gone into the distance. He was looking really strong. So I don't doubt his time or result. I'm sure there are more guys out there that noticed him he was flying. We gonna see you at CM again?
  7. And the worst was the next 200m haha
  8. Nice. Saw her in the beginning build stage when I picked up my awesome shimano brake set for a steal. Nice to see the Finished product.
  9. Nice ride in the 70km race. Wind made it tough, sand made it tougher. Gad I chose my baby gear instead of going big. Lions were awesome. That male was a beaut. Thanx to Tim and the lads for a great race. Well marked and a lot of work went into smoothing out the bits of single track. On my rigid it is much appreciated. Two fumbs up.
  10. Well I'll be on the blue SS with red chain. Not sure what kit yet depends on what's at the top of the pile in the morning. What else can distinguish me from the rest of the folks?
  11. El diablo? That's lie Spanish for fighting chicken right?
  12. Sorry to hijack but speaking of LBS and brakes. My Ashima brakes cracked on the housing where the bleed screw goes in. Took it to Eagle canyon cycles as they are the closest omnico agents. Monday took bike in. Tuesday had a call from them saying the housing was cracked but the omnico rep would be there on Wednesday. Wednesday got a call from them saying the rep had been, common problem with these brakes and they would replace them with either the same or avid equivilant. (I needed my bike that weekend for a race) Thursday Henry took the XTR brakes off his bike to put on mine so I would have a bike for the weekend Friday am picked up my bike. All this and I never even bought the brakes from them. There are some good lbs out there
  13. Nice bike. I can't wait for the 28th. The race is gonna be ok but I'm looking forward to the SS bike porn and meeting some of you guys/girls
  14. Notvto wortied where i start but after reading this thread thought I'd look at my index. Yeah the seedings are messed up. I'm not fast by any means but faster than a lot of my friends starting in batches way ahead of me. Well I suppose it gives me a hare to chase. The other thing is in the SS catagory my index is higher than guys with slower times in the same race??? Well whatever guess it'll work one day. Not to worried where I start to be honest, but the system is flawed. Not good for the race snakes and the guys that it matters to. It can't be that difficult to work a system. I know it's tricky cause not all races are the same but surely it can work on a % of the winning time. If burry or Kevin show up well that's just tough luck, then they could take your 5/10 best times over the last 24 months. Just a thought.
  15. Nice bike
  16. The only advice I can give is don't run a gear to impress other ssers. You'll suffer and the big boys dont impress easy. Run a nice light gear so you can enjoy the ride. The lightest I got is 32:20 and that's what I running. Enjoy the journey.
  17. Nah you'll be good with 18 might need a run up on some spots. Not sure of the exact route though.
  18. Teaspoon of Jik might pink it.
  19. What I'm gonna catch you??? Even if I do I'm gonna slipstream you and then slingshot over the line "shake and bake" style
  20. Got my race pack. Starting in E for Elong time to finish. The ignite Braais smelt awesome. Ten rondts for a boerie roll yummy.
  21. Gear: 1-That nice giant SS of yours 2-helmet 3-cleats 4-Costume 5-that engel you bragged about 6-beers. Hahaha. Just kidding. I have ridden there twice on my SS both times I ran 32:18 and I kakked off but only had to push up the last bit of "the gulley". Your a lot stronger than me and you could probably run that gear but depending on how serious you are congestion could mess with your momentum making it a tough day. Personally I'm running a 32:20 but not gonna set any records just gonna enjoy the vibe and the beer stops.
  22. I'm a big fan of powersol. Works great
  23. Post 500 in two years. I'm not that fast.
  24. I don't know. There are some guys that are crazy fast to reply to topics.
