  7. i found the IDT to be very boring as well, until i setup some workout plans on my garmin 500. now i have a gadget that guides me with intervals. seems to help me a bit
  8. i have three buddies that bought them each one. collectively they paid less than i paid for my 2nd hand Bianchi frame. their bikes looks damn good. they had no issues thus far
  9. tyrone helped me 3weeks ago. good job done!
  10. . our team mite be full, but make contact with 'meezo'
  11. i stand to be corrected, but i dont think theres much wrong with the spring out that far. when the body gets attached to the wheel then it would be commpressed into the mould. check if the point is sharp enough to engange the cam plate. the spring shoudnt slip over the cam plate protrusions. that's what causes the slippage (i think). i sharpend my spring tip/ end and then it was sorted. the point was round when the spring broke before.
  12. the spring is meant to be out, check if the cam plate is working. the spring engages the cam plate . if your sring id blunt in front it could cause problems too or your cam plate is stuffed.
  13. i had a similar problem with my road freebody. my spring was broken back so i bent up the remainder of the spring and filed the edge sharp to ensure engagement of the cam plate. check yr cam plate. check the attachment if it helps. recall_overhaul.pdf
  14. hey yusri: check http://johannesburg.olx.co.za/giant-anthem-x29-large-full-suspension-iid-401793328 the address and postal code looks dodgy for johannesburg. the grips are black tho, but if this is not yours check gumtree and olx (oh yes neils wheels too)
  15. How was it stolen. I live in the same area or very closeby (lansdowne station side). I will keep an eye out.
  16. at the moment i do: 10min warm up (zone 2) 8min (zone 3) 5min (zone 4) 3min (zone 5) 2min (zone 4) 2min (zone 3) 5min (zone 2) i've just recovered from accident and 4 weeks in bed and can only manage the 35min bike time on trainer. i do it tuesdays and thursdays for the past 2 weeks. i hope to do a road ride this weekend
  17. thanks guy Bazzman and Thomo. @Robrider: i'm not a boer, only a dom builder. if the bike shop cant help then i'll have to maak a plan
  18. that should work ya, where could i get this thomo?
  19. thanks ibruegge, i'll do the same.
  20. i've survived a knock by a truck and have since recovered. i broke my shoulder blade and was booked off for 6 weeks. i managed to get me a 2nd hand indoor trainer (Tacx oldish version) to keep fit while i fully recover to hit the road again. my problem is that the handle bar mount for the tension adjuster is for a much smaller diameter handle bar. i have a 31mm diameter bar and have been using the adjuster loosely. my arm does not have its full use yet and its quite difficult for me to adjust the tension (i have to stop pedalling to adjust). it would of been much easier had it been mounted. any of you have a similar problem or any idea where or how to upgrade the mounting?
  21. thanks for an awesome event. well organised. my first mtb event ever.
  22. @babse, wait for me please. gona debut my build in this race!
  23. @meezo, we gona miss you training out there while you recover. my prayers goes out to chris and his family.
  24. Meezo is a close friend of mine. Came back from visiting him now. Glad to see he ok, but my prayers goes out to the guy that was airlifted. I heard from meezo his 2 kids the same age as mine. Hope he pulls through
  25. thanks to guidance of this thread, i only paid VAT on my Garmin Edge 500 bundle from CRC. i'm a bit doff when it comes to duties and vat. i previously bought a helmet from CRC and was shocked when i had to pay duties. i still ended up paying R100 less than at the LBS
