  1. reading all the comments made my day! I fly rc Jets and just bought an expensive mtb - so I'm in double trouble. Every good hobby has the exact same problems I think. Only 2 types of Hubbers, those whom acknowledge their addiction and those who are in denial.
  2. Hi guys What are your thoughts on doing a full 3M Vinyl wrap of a new MTB? Does it last and is it worth it? Lastly any companies or persons in Bellville/Durbanville area that does it? Thanks
  3. The bike can handle it. I had a 36T on my previous Epic after switching to 1x12 but this was with GX. If I buy a new bike I expect it to atleast come with the gear ratio of my choice. They basically just swop it out and keep the smaller chainring in stock again.
  4. Thanks guys. Yes spot on Knersboy. Seriously disgusted that Spez would then go and put SlX on a R80k bike. If it was still 1x11 no problem. But 1x12 they surely had to consider that there are people capable of using the 36T upfront. This allows for greater range of the cassette in my case.
  5. Hi guys. Looking to buy the 2021 Epic Comp spez. Prob is this bike comes fitted with SLX drive train 1x12. Now I can only go up to a 34T upfront. This is a massive waste as it has 51T cog at back. Will never get to use this. Use to ride a 34T upfront on Sram 1x11 with 10x42 cassette. Any advise what to do now? Can I let them fit a 36T Xt chainring or would it require to upgrade the crankset to XT also?
  6. Weather predictions not looking great at this moment. Looks like it might be a mud fest or tri-athlons instead if that much rain falls as predicted...
  7. There are pros and there are ex dopers. Only difference between the two is the one was caught out!
  8. Was a tough 800m of climbing with those deep sandy roads!
  9. thanks, yes would one day do it again. Very scenic route, and a nice change from staying local.
  10. Hope this works. https://www.strava.com/activities/1580218851/embed/3ddc2730f469e06a84dbec4bfaa881e1982bb1f8
  11. Happy to report my MTB took me all the way to Robertson via Du Toitskloof Pass in a solo effort. Had a full lane to myself aal the way to the Rawsonville turn off. Bit of strong wind from back of Durbanville to top of the pass. But from Rawsonvile had a very pleasant ride. 160km and 7hours in total. Had a lekker lunch at a Cellar just before Rawsonville. Was a experience and a half. Only two corners on the pass going up was not so nice with zero shoulder. So make sure nothing is behind you around these two corners if possible.
