I have to back you up here! I waved at 843 cars on the way to work and only one waved back and then still had the cheek to show me the finger when he realised that he didnt know me and would never see me again.............you have no idea how much that hurt.

Really? I always: Drive to about 1m from the cyclist, then HOOT to say hello. They give the special finger salute after riding faster. Guess it's to say thanks for the extra energy or something. Then I squeeze past as close and fast as possible, so they can get maximum slipstream from my car. They then normally make a waving motion to say bye, and I give them the finger salute to say 'have a nice day'. Roadies are weird, but I think I have a good understanding of their language.

I hear what your point is Mutt and I do agree with your point of over regulation and empire builders, but shouldnt we still consider others when we do anything that endangers others especially when it is a preventable incident such as riding into someone because you didnt hear them since you really arent deaf or tossing a gel satchet? and I only wish I could be racing for 138th place......sigh!

My trusty old Beta 2 decided to go into prem retirement. All I need is something with a nice big font that will give me the basics such as speed, distance, ave speed, blah blah blah. I dont want to spend more than R500 if possible. if you give your view then just make sure you can also tell me the merits or demerits and wire or wireless units please. Anyone know anything about VDO (whatever that is) as I can get that for R280. PS Has to be hardy as it is for the MTB.
