  1. Cannot enter. Event page states that event is closed. Event date 18 April. Still a long way off. Is the event not taking place anymore?
  2. Maybe get a new leader on a non ebike. We also have e-bikes in our group and they tend to sit in the back and go as fast as the slowest rider uphill but move to the front in a strong headwind and then only at a pace the normal bike riders can maintain. Everybody is happy and enjoy the ride. If a guy on an e-bike wants to up the speed let him go so he can ride on his own. Maybe then he will see the “light”
  3. Saturday is 100%. Give our guys from out of town time to relax the evening after the race and be fresh for the long drive home (550km) on Sunday so pleeeease don’t move to a Sunday. Just stick to the tradition. It works very well. Cyclist just need to be aware that it is not a full road closure event so apply some commenbense if it is available
  4. I have a 2 pairs of prescription glasses now for over 8 years. One with a very dark tint (photo) and the other much lighter. I wear them not only for cycling. Works like a dream. Not so expensive as normal cycling glasses. Had them made them made my local optometrist
  5. I would suggest it will be much cheaper to buy a secondhand bike on bikehub than try to fix that bicycle. There are lots of really good value bikes to be had on the forum
  6. E-Bikes cut off at 25km/h or 32km/h for mtb’s depending on make. Road e-bikes cut off at 45km/h (maybe less) so no problem there. If everything stays as supplied and not derestricted.
  7. Any way around it? Don’t have family or friends in UK.
  8. Hi Neville, how did you subscribe to Discovery Plus. I tried it but they don’t seem to recognise SA cards. Regards Dupreez 0726107123
  9. Thanks for uploading all those photo’s. That is what the “Argus” was about before all these new tech. People were actually having fun. Nowadays it seems like a moan brigade. Also say a VERY VERY big thanks to all those guys that were riding at the front pulling the bunches so most of the riders in the bunch can have a “free” ride. They are actual heroes 💪🏻💪🏻👏🏻so that the rest can “brag” about what their time was. Like someone mentioned previously by disqualifying someone for staring earlier or whatever to gain 1 or 2 or 50 places what’s the point. To move from 7 600 - 7 100 makes no difference at all. Maybe I’m wrong (sorry if I am) and things have changed since I started riding the Argus 20+ years ago but it seems we missed the whole point of not having fun. Give it your best shot may it be to try for a sub 3 or for most people just be able to get to the finish, every body is a winner
  10. Sorry first one is at 6:54 not 7:54
  11. I have 2. One starting 7:54 and the other one 8:04. Contact me on 0726107123. Dupreez
  12. Not even disc brakes included😩
  13. We are a few e-bikers in our group and normally ride where we want in group. No problem from any of the other riders. But when riding into a strong headwind we (e-bikers) normally go to the front and the rest follows. Still everybody is happy. If you are unhappy with that go find your own group is our motto. We like to enjoy our rides and don’t need people complaining all the time
  14. Robbie, you summed it up pretty good. It’s not the bike, it’s the person on the bike (no matter what kind of bike) that is the problem
