  1. It all depends on what is in the wording. On the balance of probabilities it is new for old, unless you ask the Insurer if they can endorse the policy to note that the bicycle has been insured on an agreed 2nd hand value. If you wish to insure at new replacement cost, on a built up bike, any bike shop should be able to supply an appropriate value.Fail to understand why your LBS cannot assist in this regard.
  2. I would prefer not to elaborate,if you don’t mind. thanks
  3. If the sum insured is adequate then they must pay for the upgrade grades. The rest of the advice given on this thread is inaccurate in many instances.I have been involved in the short term industry for 39 years.
  4. Or you contact me riccardo@phoenixrisk.co.za

  10. A client of mine was involved in the accident that took place on Hospital bend. His bicycle was a total write off.Claim form was submitted today to Cyclesure at 09h33.At 12h33 I was sent a Release form by Cyclesure in the amount of R26.812.50.Claim settled.Well done Cyclesure you have out done yourselves.Riccardo Stermin
  11. Hi Bruce and family.I am saddened to hear what happened to your son.I will hold your name up in prayer and ask that God give you the strength and courage to face this trying and difficult time.Psalm 143 V 8.Riccardo Stermin
  12. I disagree with you there, please note that I have been in short term insurance for 26years(for my sins)20 years as an independant insurance assessor and handled many losses for bicycles.Insurers accept that there will be an improvement between a 2008 and 2010.Should the latter be a fair replacement of the former then that is what you will get.The same principal works on computer losses,a pc 6 months old is outdated, but the insurer will supply you with the current replacement. However should there be a huge difference between what you had and what the current replacement is then any insurer will look at betterment and ask for some form of contribution.
  13. I ironically went to Hillcrest for the first time this afternoon, brilliant and well done to Tygerberg Mountain Bike Club.I am a member and have signed our 12 yr old son up also. They are the ones doing the work so support by joining the club or by making donations. They also attend to all the work in Majic Forest.
  14. you say that you can replace your bike every 2 years if you save R200 pm meaning the value is about 5k for your bike so your premium would be low. Do yourself a favour and go to Cyclesure.co.za there you fill out a form with your bike details' date=' in minutes you recieve your quote. Some of us needs to save half a decade to replace a bike, if we crash without ensurance its back to the 1k Peugeot hanging in the garage. I received a quote today from Cyclesure. To ensure my bike valued at 25k + 2k of accessories would be about R190pm... [/quote'] Pedalcare would be R177.30 per month for same value of goods.
  15. That is the downhill discipline and not riding downhill fast, lie we all do.
  16. We are almost National in SA,but one company, with our HQ in Pretoria.Better service by having regional offices is the approach.Unfortunately no office in Mozambique, but give Petro a call in Pretoria.I will send you a PM with her details, maybe she will assist.
