  1. 6'2" 82kg 36y Rigid fork on all terrain. Rule nr5 applies, enough said.
  2. New addition, work in progress, still needs a name...
  3. I run HD on front and crossmark at back on my SS, which is the bike I ride 80% of the time Love the HD. Would want to run HD at back too but frame doesn't allow clearance. HD is good for most highveld riding most of the time
  4. PM sent with team
  5. Latest pic of Laranja note the 170 crank ????
  6. Laranja
  7. Hahahaha - not a serious SSr That's what i said a few years ago, now I could actually sell my other 3 bikes as they never see the sun... Wrt ratio - 32:18 to start and later you might progress to 32:17 as all round ride/race setup, depends on your stomping ground. I ride 34:18 (=32:17) all the time everywhere.... Wrt 170 crank - I also picked up a 170 crank for a bargain and it works fine, it even feels as if I might have more ground clearance but that's probably the voices in my head
  8. DD - designated driver... Laranja won't make saturday - I've got this pesky little thing called "work" which is interfering with my schedule. Enjoy and take pics
  9. I am planning on being there, will see how the week turns out. The only time I am not DD is at SSSA/SSWC...
  10. Sounds GOOOOOD! Then you can see Laranja in latest fashion...
  11. That Kikker must be really light if you got it from Hansen, sub 8kg?
  12. harde tye - I can't see myself not riding cleats
  13. that happens regularly - Laranja is the only bike I ride apart from Adventure Racing which is done on my awesome X29
  14. supposed to but life happened and now I R JAST SAD !
  15. had a lekker Spruit ride on Laranja!!! pity none of you were there to witness the skills....
  16. Awesome bike!
  17. today mf!
  18. I agree that potentially there will be more wrap, but the chain will in total lenght be able to stretch more due to having more links thus requiring more regular adjustment/tensioning... sorted out alignment LOOOOOOONNGG AGO
  19. LARANJA after somewhat of a makeover, new wheels, new tires (2.35 + 2.1), new brakes, new mud guard, and some appropriate motivational stickers. Also went a bit West Rand on myself and sprayed the chain CHROME - will see how that works out and how long it lasts... might need to get a gold chain and wear it over a hairy chest with an open shirt...
  20. Will post some pics of slightly improved/upgraded/modified LARANJA soon
  21. I am also running 34/20 on Laranja, have had major issues with chain jumping off (and some injuries). Have H-drops, no tensioner, using 8sp chain, . Basically I kept tensioning to a point where the chain is almost too tight, having much less issues. You have to keep in mind that running 34/20 uses more chain than 32/18 which theoretically will mean more "flexibility" in the chain as a whole... I like the chainring I have that's why I am running 34/20, but I can promise you that I am going back to 32/18 or 32/17 as soon as the chainring is done with. See pics in next post.
  22. thanks Gerald - awesome! I feel like Valverde - 4th last year 11th this year, dissappointing to say the least, but I will make a comeback next year, I might even pick my own team for a change... ( @Tridude)
  23. If I had only followed my gutt and rather went with Kittel + Rolland + Greipel instead of TJ + Voeckler + Martin then I might have done so well that this competition would have exploded like a Chuck Norris fart !!!
  24. "on wi udder hand Darren..." I am playing this year like a real GC rider, waited for the last week before moving up the ranks... Top 20 finally and things are looking good for a top 10 finish...
  25. Supermar and Tridude - 1 and 2 - this married couple sure know a lot more about cycling than most of us... For now...
