  1. just voted on this Poll: Are you going to vote on Wednesday? topic , did the X one this morning, alot of early risers as there were a queue at 7am already 30min later out the door...
  2. Defnitely need better spacing of water points, (35km) I didn't use either of the 2, the 1st was to early and the 2nd to close to the finish imo But the beer at the finish was a refreshing change, not that I drink beer And then with some groups taking a "shortcut" caused bottlenecks on some of the narrow sections, this was also due to a later start and spacing being changed to only 2 minutes, rather then the original planned 5 minutes. The organisers should take responsibility here, and hopefully learn, though this is not their 1st Lionman... "shortcuts" should have marshalls... The wide dirt roads were pleasant and fast, though the "corrugated iron" made passings a bumpy ride at times. With the latest results publish they mentioned they added 10 min to E & F groups, but from this sounds like G might also be affected..., also I do not see time differences between the proviusional results before adjustment & the results with the comnment added. In short my biggest complaint were the bottlenecks, even with most of the route being wide dirt road... Oh well done and dusted.
  3. CWC is Local & Leading, 2 for the price of 1
  4. If it was a SASeeding number board you can SMS SAS & the Board number to 32439, it will give the rider identification and medical details....
  5. for Rockshox here is a guideline for their different models: http://www.sram.com/_media/pdf/service/air_inflation.pdf
  6. Came accross this website last month when I was shopping for a pump as well... http://www.competitivecyclist.com/review-pumps-co2-inflators/shock-pump-shootout_620.html (Topeak was a bit expensive locally, and settled for the RockShox @ R250 from LBS), but yes "predicting" the amount of airloss with normal pumps is... annoying. If you have the cash take Crasher's advice, otherwise they all are in the same boat.
  7. would recommend reading: http://www.theswazifrontier.sz/pages/kit.html or https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/14619-packing-for-the-epic/
  8. H as H is an understatement for summer, prepare yourself for night riding rather, temps of 38 - 40 is the norm, and don't expect a possibility of clouds. There are a couple of "farms"/wineyards along the river & "kanaal" that you can tackle, but very early morning is about the only advisable time. Sorry can't help you with current groups/clubs, but the town is small
