  1. for a coffee...
  2. looking very very cool Jared! loving the attention to detail.
  3. The Geometry is very different between the two frames. The STR is also a very big frame from my experience so if the bike will be ridden by your wife, you might struggle to find an STR that fits. Both are great, go with the one that fits her the best. I would also look at the frames that are made by that RSA company... steel with an EBB... the name escapes me now... Sprocket & Jack sell them and they are silver and have a lady as the head badge....
  4. From my coffee ride this morning... 25km of bliss...
  5. You will see from the pics that after about 500km of use, the sides are already changing colour slightly and are smoother to the touch.
  6. As promised... close ups of the saddle
  7. Why did you remove the cages? Two bottles are better than none
  8. To be honest I have not even thought about that because I ride in Fox Ranger trail shorts over my Assos bibs. Now that you mention it, the texture is quite rough. I suppose that it will smooth down a little over time. Would you like me to take some detailed pictures of the saddle and fabric cover? I am happy to.
  9. this pic shows the colour much better...
  10. http://www.brooksengland.com/cambium/ Yep, a C15. I wanted a racier lighter Brooks. It is very comfortable but do not fool yourself, it is hard and your tender bits need to get used to it. it does not have as much give as the C17 or other models. I love the look and now that I am used to it, I love it. If you are looking for a wider more comfortable saddle look at the C17. You also get the carved versions now which are amazing. If you have doubts cast them to the wind. The c17 is an incredible saddle. If you want a slightly racier profile, grab a c15.
  11. Thanks meneer. Its a C15, slightly narrower and harder (maybe an error on my part).
  12. Nope, Momsen STR 29 painted by Bogus. It was carbon Rapide fork that got painted with the bike. The cranks are X9 cranks that we polished up silver and clear coated. I kept the bike for a while but the 19inch frame was just too big for me and I kept on picking up injuries. A truly beautiful bike. My new Singular fits me like a glove and it is equally as elegant. The steel Singular fork however is in a class of its own! sublime!
  13. Thanks gents, that is my old SS. It belongs to a hubber now. This is my new one. I am truly in love with this bike.
  14. Super proud of the fact that we are represented as a nation in this event. It is a niche event and it takes a massive amount of money to get the athletes there. I am also very proud of the fact that the bike was put together and painted in Durban. Its nickname should be "DurbanPoison" to go with the paint. As a Giant fanboy, it is also great to see the frame that I ride in the Olympics. The very modern suspension design will serve him well. It has been proven through science tests.
  15. too much silver looks terrible. Silver frame, silver stem, black bars and seat post - that would be awesome. You can also do what I did and polish the cranks to get rid of the silver and make the alloy shine silver. Clear coat them and they will last.
  16. In my opinion, I wont go silver again. Too much cleaning and TLC needed. The Ritchey parts are also very expensive.
  17. silver like this?
  18. that pic does not do the bike justice.... come on show us the money shot...
  19. I love Single Speed Sunday.... I need to post here more often
  20. Patch you make me laugh! think suzelle diy "it must be science"
  21. Agreed, I would love to have one and fiddle but cannot justify the price tag and maintenance that comes with it...
  22. just grabbed an ABID, reusable filter and some coffee.... thanks for the link chaps
  23. I want tan walled tyres for my Singular but can't find them locally
  24. I'm amazed by the compliance of my Singular steel fork.... Incredible piece of engineering
