  1. Agreed people should ride whatever they want to but bike shops should be dissuaded from selling skittish xc weapons to average Joe public. This is the perfect type of bike for the majority of riders out there just enjoying themselves. Look at the pyga 110, it is heavy but when you ride it you forget the weight because it just rides so well. You end up spending a lot more time on it because it's not trying to kill you.
  2. Isetech I saw you at coffee guys this morning. I was on my singular single speed having a coffee with my lady who was on a morewood
  3. That is very cool.... take a gander at their basins. Very cool.
  4. Those are old formula r1's with carbon levers. Love them to bits. I've had them on 4 different bikes.
  5. I love this detail...
  6. Thanks, pictures sadly do not do it justice. It is slacker than you think and low. Just awesome.
  7. From my ride this morning.... just cruising...
  8. I guess that then makes me a p**sy when I ride my CX bike and MTB and a cyclist when I ride my SS....
  9. That is a stunning photo... great work
  10. don't spend the money just to get a noise... wait until your bearings need replacing and then swop out the hubs. Or just replace the bearings... your call ultimately but you wont feel that much of an improvement.
  11. Dips how is your new bike coming?
  12. That is very very cool... Low and slack!
  13. I was riding my geared MTB through our local trails yesterday and I came across a singlespeeder. It brought a massive smile to my face and I immediately wished that I was on my Singular. He was riding a 26er hardtail that he had converted to a SS with a tensioner. His bike was very basic but in great condition. You could see that he took great pride in it. I love that about SS. It has nothing to do with branding or specific materials or aero... a SS is a personal thing and it says a lot about the rider. Moral of the story, ride what you have and be proud of it. more importantly, ride your SS more often!
  14. Yep, didn't make a great cup. Still experimenting though.
  15. #Oprahmadehimdoit
  16. Bought a manual grinder off the site that Nerd referred me to. Thanks chaps. Now to start experimenting. This thread is like the CX and SS threads, people who want to offer solid sound advice about something that they are passionate about.
  17. And what pray tell is this other bike....
  18. Didn't even know it was his birthday. I guess that is normal for someone who never knew him personally. I'm glad that people have stopped talking about him as much as they used to. His ex-wife and family need peace.
  19. Thanks, I shall investigate
  20. I use ground coffee from Truth or Terbadore (I don't own a grinder...). I weigh the coffee going in with a digital scale. I will fiddle some more. I just feel that the coffee doesn't have the body and flavour that I get from the same coffee when using my plunger.
  21. Skott5, where did you get the Maxxis whitewalls from?????
  22. Anyone else here using an ABID? I cant seem to get a decent cup of coffee out of mine. Any tips?
  23. Good to have you back sir
  24. Awesome work... I did the same for my brother's kid. He still rides SS some 5 years later.
  25. If it's too expensive then don't ride it. Full stop. Surely.
