Glad to see someone else's "first time" was with a Le Turbo. Mine was from Robbie Macintosh, cost just over a grand at the time and was top of the line. The frame was 2 sizes to big for me , but the idea was I would "grow into it". She still hangs in my garage, her racing days long over. I left her for a Colnago a few years later, from Alan Van Heerden (when he was close to Alexander, and it was safe to ride in that direction) , 1 size to big, She cost me about R2500 at the time (about a years worth of pay checks) Today I'm on an Bianchi Niarone 56 cm frame (never did grow up), cost me 800 pounds sterling, and she has just done 5000Km today.

It has been some time since I have raced Kyalami. (About 15 years, use to be called Gestetner kyalami and I think the mine shaft was steeper back then). Use to race criterium (1 hour plus lap) entrance fee's where big (R20) but the pay out was worth it if you placed in the top 5. Use to pay for the weekends party Now, I would be happy to lap in 1 hour, still have R20 in my wallet at the end of the month, and wouldn't know of a party this weekend. Can someone tell me what the format is now, times, day's, entrance fees?

Only caught the last 5 minutes of an Interview between Ronel and Andrew. Although very presentable and articulate , Ronel seemed to be airing her reasons for being disgruntled about not being selected. Although I think she has a just cause, she is walking a narow PR tightrope. She needs to present her argument more concisely and prevent coming across as "sower grapes" (there was this slight undertone on the show). She is seeking legal advice, if this is the case she might need a PR company as well.BrokeSpoke2007-08-28 15:12:55
