  1. Very sad! My problem is that these roads around Stellenbosch are probably theoretically the safest roads to use as a cyclist, as the shoulders/yellow lane section is huge! If cyclists aren't safe on these routes, I don't know where we will be safe??? Hope they have a speedy recovery!
  2. Sorry bro. REAL sucky situation to be in! Buggers! I think in future, I will make contact to potential buyers from my wife's phone and not provide my number. If the scammer then sends the EFT notification to the number he thinks is mine...boom! scam averted!

  6. Sepia, that sounds awesome. Will give you a shout next time when I come through durbs... Mad Sci, Gonna have to fix something like that to my roadie! After I fixed the fork and everything else that broke in the fall, all it needs is one of those! Epic!
  7. Still waiting for pics...
  8. Pics of carrier please!
  9. No not an SS, or no not a 1x9? I can just imagine myself rolling on my SS and shifting with everyone else when hitting the uphill to another gear of the same size  ...edit... I've convinced myself! Gonna buy 8 more SS kits to convert it!
  10. Seeing this made me think a bit...would it still count as a SS if you gots a rear derailr with all 9 cogs on the casette the same size, and one blade in front? Would be a 1x9 or whatever, but still be a SS (i know youd have to make some adjustments to the derailr and stuff, but for argument's sake)...
  11. Admin - Please be so kind as to put a limit to posts per hour on this post... I am seriously struggling to keep up and my work is suffering! ...edit... and all this while the cricket is on...

  14. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but have not yet seen altercations, etc. between cars/people and mtb okes...? Then again, not a lot of people/cars on single track  ...edit...But to the point, I must say, I cycle to enjoy it and have never even come close to giving the finger/name calling/whatever on my cycling trips...not even when I commute and motorists do crazy and stupid things. Usually I find that a smile and wave makes the motorist or who-ever feel like a knob for being agro or the stupid thing they did... my 2c.

  23. Cheeze bru, you pick a hell of a weekend... It's a long weekend and it's the long weekend of my anniversary... Gonna be a tough one, but I'll try my best. The flack jacket might not be much use by that time, because I'm gonna have to wear it when I break this news Early ride will be 100's! Even we local boys suffer in the heat of day, so usually do early rides!
  24. Dude, let me know if your going to ride Jonkershoek on the weekend when your here. I live in Stellenbosch (just next to Jonkershoek) and am always keen for a ride!
