  1. I was thinking of doing a mod on the shaft and putting a spring in the square tube that will push the rod down and applying pressure on the "brake" I don't really want to start drilling holes all over to mount new brackets etc.
  2. After my Rant 'n Rave earlier this week about the issues regarding online payment at myrace/CSA, I had a PM from Justin at myrace this morning asking that I contact him to see if he can help sort out any issues. He has just come back to me and confirmed that my payment reflects correctly on their side. Thanks for the efficient and friendly help JustinSpeed Devil2008-11-26 04:03:16
  3. I want to modify this mech so that I can operate the resistance with a handlebar mounted 5 speed click shifter?....same as those used on "Hypermarket specials" Has anyone done this mod before?
  4. Ok, I eventually caught the CSA server in a good mood and registered the missus and myself. It gave the correct amounts when I had to pay and accepted my payment. How do I check on their website to see if it reflects that I am paid up?
  5. ....And just hope the PPA doesn't send the riders off on the wrong route and everyone misses the feeding zone completely
  6. Flowta, when I bought my tandem last week it came with Truvativ Elita cranks. When I got home and went for a test drive there was a wobble on both cranks. I took it back and they told me that MTB hollow cranks were fitted instead of road ones. They said that there is a difference on the diameters of the cranks. Unfortunately I don't know how many different BB's there are for Truvativ cranks.
  7. With all these hassles of applying online, would a better option be to download the forms, fill them in and post it to CSA with a bank guaranteed cheque? Or should I take a chance and apply online?
  8. ROFLOL....The eternal curse of the appy
  9. I just don't want my stoker to sit behind me for 105km shouting...."stop it....I keel you"
  10. Ok, now I?m getting p!ssed off!!!!! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I?m trying to renew my license on the CyclingSA website. I do the CSA waltz of step1, step2, step3?. On step one it tells me that there is no info to display, so I go to step2, where I choose the ?racing? option and at the top of the page it says that I owe R165. After I click accept I go to step3 and then it tells me that I owe R110?HTF is that possible???? Can someone please help me!!!
  11. I have been told that riding is about communication between both partners. I have 2 questions to ask, seeing as I can no longer do as I please on my bike. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Question 1: When needing to release gas, does the pilot: A) Tell the stoker so that he/she can turn away or hold his/her breath? B) Just let rip and hope it is not a bakebeans/sauerkraut ripper that will half kill your stoker ? Question 2: When needed to clear the throat or nasal passges, does the pilot A) Tell the stoker so that he/she can take evasive action? B) Just blow as hard as possible and hope that the stoker is thin enough not to get caught in the crossfire?
  12. Great bike BDP. I'm sure she is going to love it....Once again a great job by cycleart When do we get a pic of your wife....on the bike/couch/bed....
  13. Thanks for the explanation Slowpoke. Saw way to many of those at 94.7 even worse was the VULs (Visible underpant lines.) LOL. Thanks for that explanantion, but I taught my wife that from the first time she put her shorts on. She was bit uncomfortable at first at the thought of not having any undies on, but I think she is glad now that I told her.
  14. I think Exocet has closed down. Maybe you can try Produx in Cape Town. If they can supply you then you can just get your lbs to fit them. Or you could look at getting a set of bottle cages that fit under the saddle like the triathletes use.Speed Devil2008-11-23 01:49:58
  15. You could just use jubilee hose clamps like we did in the old days before rivnuts were introduced Speak to Petri at Karsten Cycles. He borrowed a tool a while back to tighten a rivnut in my road frame. Maybe he will know where to get. If you find out then let me know please.
  16. Reading "advise" on the hub is far more interesting and entertaining than some wikipedia entry on the net. The only problem is trying to sort the sh!t from the good stuff LONG LIVE THE SPHONGLE!!!!
  17. VPLs????...is that something you get from sharing shorts with somone
  18. I almost bought that tandem at Solomons, but then saw the 2008 model at Bruces for a few bucks extra. So rather took the later model.
  19. Velly velly naais Hope you have many many happy miles together on her/him/it.... Where did you buy your tandem? Check my one out. Got her last weekend at Bruce's. Got a couple of offers for stokers, so named mine klomppomp https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=37509Speed Devil2008-11-22 12:56:11
  20. mmmm maybe if I hang my sphongle out it will dry by the morning! ROFLOL
  21. Sorry HR and TNT1 but this one is not for you I have finally got my wife into cycling and she has joined my CC and now I want to buy her a club kit. Seeing as women are a bit more endowed upstairs I was wondering if she should order the bib shorts or normal shorts? Don't know if the straps on the bibshorts will cause unnecessary shaffing on her boobies...not that I would mind, cause then it would give me reason to give them some much needed TLC
  22. Yeah, i heard if you grease too often then your quick release takes longer to kick in....But I also heard female riders like it when the quick relaease takes longer
