  2. ....Oh, nice bike by the way Hope you have many happy miles on her/him/it
  3. Where can I buy a workstand like that...It looks pretty solid
  4. The only problem with having things (especially cycling related) sent to your work is that you have to wait ALL DAY to get home to fit your new stuff. I rather have it sent to the PO, and then I have reason to leave early
  5. Ag no Wolfie. What happened?
  6. Now that the step has been taken to name and shame yhese litterbugs, lets hope admin will make this a sticky topic. Maybe we can ask myphoto or whoever does the photos at the races to send us the pics of the guilty parties Like Pedal said, the guy who chucked his empty sachets was riding with a young female. If it was his daughter then it's not a very nice thing to teach his child. He deserves his pic to be up here.
  7. Jules, you you also try wedging a gwala or tyre lever at the back of the crank (over the BB through the frame) and hitting it off with a hammer. Thats what we did in the old days before discovering crank extractors
  8. Here's something to get you started. Just don't slow down the traffic!!! That will explain why it takes so long to get construction done. In Gauteng we use this Scotty, you are not supposed to let them know what our secret weapons are....next thing you know those capies will send the gangters from the cape flats to hijack our equipment
  9. I won the 70km route on the carousel Classic 2 years ago
  10. Roadies are too busy watching their HR and power readings to concentrate on things around them
  11. Why have this under the rant and rave topic. talk about confusing the issue good one to Karstens' date=' I have a problem with my gears on the Saturday before 94.7, and they fixed it even after it was closing time. [/quote'] No wonder I'm still waiting for my quote on a tandem...3 weeks after buying it somewhere else.....cause you guys don't know what shopping hours are haha,. maybe they heard you got one already and stopped the quote. I have a policy, I only ask once. If I don't get service then I go somewhere else. They took the effort to take my details, but never phoned back. So it was just another wasted call and 5 minutes of my time Speed Devil2008-12-03 09:00:45

  13. I just bought an Aliante for my tandem and was very impressed with it...not as hard as my Sella italia SLR gel flow and vry comfortable. I'm thinking of replacing my Sella on my raod bike with an Aliante.
  14. A friend of mine was bitten by a puff adder....She had a baby nine months later
  15. Tape the area you are going to cut with masking tape and cut through the tape, that way you get a nice clean cut. and WEAR A MASK!!! you don't want that stuf in your lungs Tip: Use a fine blade, maybe a 32T. It will take a bit longer but the cut will be nice and neat.Speed Devil2008-12-03 03:25:44
  16. Maybe we have an economist or a brain surgeon amongst us here on the the HUB that can explain why the oil orice can come down to the sme level as three years ago, but that they can't drop the price of petrol/diesel to the same levels at that time. I do agree however that the present oil price is not good news at all for us, and personally hope it does go up a bit soon, as oil, gold and platinum are vrey good indicators of the state of the market.
  17. An MTB hub is wider than a road hub. So you will have a problem if you want to put a MTB hub in a road frame and visa versa
  18. 7005 aluminium is a standard material for manufacturing alloy frames. It is not the tubing that you should be worried about, but the way the tubes are joined. I have never ridden a Scott, but know quite few people who do, some of which have been in a few big accidents and their bikes have never sustained any serious damage. Scott is a fairly solid frame and should last you many many years.
  19. I am 1,87m and have ridden all the years with 175mm cranks. When I had my DA 7800 gruppo fitted they slapped a 172,5mm crank on and I was non the wiser until I serviced my bike a few months later and made the shocking discovery. I never really noticed any difference and don't feel at a disadvantage either. As for shorter cranks accelarating faster, I don't think 2,5mm is going to make any difference in a sprint for the 1988th place...not unless you trying to break a world record. As said earlier, 172,5mm cranks are easier to get rid of when wanting to sell them. just my 2c
  20. Can't a person ask CRC to disassemble the bike and send it over as "spares" to make the import duties less?
  21. Luckily she doesn't HUb...Just hope no one phones her
  22. At least then she is good for two things...the kitchen and weight power trainingSpeed Devil2008-12-01 08:12:18
