  1. Yeah, I know most drivers have the energy to move their arm and fingers to flip the lever for the indicators.
  2. When your bike is in the smallest cog and blade, try to loosen the cable tension a little by turning the cable tensioning screw in and see if the rear derailleur moves out slightly. If if this does not work then turn your "H" stop screw out to bring the derailleur out. It sounds like your derailleur is adjusted to far "in", which means when you change down to a lower gear then your gear changes will be ok but when changing up you will "miss"gears. When you are riding on the road listen for a ticking noise from the gears, this will indicate that you are not properly in gear and need to adjust them.Speed Devil2008-10-14 14:50:37
  3. OUCH!!!! Next question...What colour you going to paint your bolts?
  4. Your best bang for the buck would be a set of Eaton EA70's. They are middle of the range and not too expensive and a good all-round (no pun intended) wheel for training and racing. The average weight limit on most wheels is 90kg, so these would be perfect for your weight.
  5. Eeshtin EA nineteesh and American Clashicsh....My wheels aren't pooftersSpeed Devil2008-10-14 13:23:42
  6. I have a set of Easton EA90 earo which I use for training and bad weather racing (strong wind etc) and a set of American Classic carbons for racing. As said above the tubbies roll a lot better and the ride is better too. The only downside to riding/racing with tubbies is that if you puncture then your ride is over and it's quite expensive to repair a tubby. At the end of the day it's your choice and the size of your bank account that will determine what you use to train and race on.
  7. ok to make this statement true it would mean that i didnt have my best ride of my life on a set of borrowed wheels from my girlfriend they were a set of shimano Whr500 wheels (really cr@p in most peoples opinion) but have you actually ridden anything worse or anything better i posted a time of 2h02 minutes in the bela bela classic on a set of 1650ZAR wheels so seriously people its not about the components you use its all about eating right riding often enough and using the correct supplements for the right reasons another thing is people are waaaaay too serious about what bikes they ride well get this i ride a 10kg bianchi and i can still keep up with the elites on thier sponsored 6.8kg bikes upgrade when the parts break or really need repairing not because you think it will look good to ride a new bike everyday With the price of bicycle components these days I would buy the best I can afford purely from the point of quality and durability. I could also do a good time on a relatively cheap set of wheels, but when you riding day in and day out on the same set of wheels they won't last very long. The same goes for the gruppo. The only place I would skimp is on the frame as their is no wear and tear on it like the gruppo for example.
  8. Dankie Limosine. Ek sal so biejie met hulle gaan chat....Is dit die een in Lynnwoodweg?Speed Devil2008-10-14 06:40:46
  9. Ek is 1,87m en sy 1,67m. So ons sal seker 'n XL/M tandem nodig h?. Nou vra ek julle met trane in my o?...Wa de f*k gaan ek 'n 2de handse tandem kry in daai mates
  10. I was talking about tandems that wok on alpha characters and not numerical when referring to the size
  11. I ride a single seater size 58/59 road bike. What would that equate to in a tandem size....L / XL?
  12. What p!sses me off is when people change lanes and put their indicator on when they are already halfway across the line. Some drivers think that because they have their indicator on they have automatic right to pull in front of you, regardless if there is enough place between you and the motorist in front. Now that my wife is learning to drive she is very quick to point out when I don't use my indicators...which doesn't happen very often. I just wish she would learn to put her headlights on when driving at night.....now that is a driving experience of note but won't dicuss it here
  13. Try throwing it in the wash machine with some surf and vanish Speed Devil2008-10-14 00:20:08
  14. I didn't know that sunglasses are made for diferent countries to suit their specifc degree of UV light from the sun. I thought all sunglasses (from the same manufacturer) came off the same line and were just distributed around the globe
  15. Parabola Put the wheel in and make sure the fork is flush on the axle. Then pull the brake while tightening the skewer so that the wheel stays centralised while tightening.
  16. Well there's been 3 (I think) reports now of 2 guys armed with knives hitting in the 12th Avenue bridge area in the late afternoons. That seems like a pattern to me. And that is just on Hubbers. What about on people who don't HUB? This problem could be far more serious than what we think.
  17. Even photochromatic lenses will leave you temporarily blind when going from bright light into the shade or darker areas like tunnels as it will take a few seconds for the lenses to lighten. The only advantage here will be that you don't have to lift your or remove your glasses for the entire ride through the tunnel/ dark area. My BBB/quickstep glasses are more than enough and don't see why I need to spend 2,3k on a pair of glasses. Hell, D'Arcs are even bulletproof at a fraction of the price As long as they keep the bright light, wind, rain and bugs out of my eyes then I'm happy.
  18. Do these attacks happen on random days and times or is there some sort of pattern here? Maybe we should post the date and time of these bike-jackings to see if there is a pattern. That way people will know when to be extra vigilant.
  19. Nice bike DS. I hope you have plenty happy km's on her. I'm glad to see you at least put a decent gruppo and wheels on such a k@k frame to make it look a bit better. Now you can start to strip her down and get ready to send the frame back for the recall
  20. I'm rather attached to my body parts...I wouldn't like to lose any of them trying that cr@p I wonder how high those guys are before trying that stuff. I don't think anyone in their real mind would do that.
  21. Sorry, my bad. Is this only related to MTB events where you have your race number on the handlebar? Roadies have their race number on their back so won't be visible when photos are taken. I'm a fulltime roadie and and have never had this problem.
  22. How is this illegal? When you receive your race pack there is a set of self-adhesive numbers enclosed. No one forces you to put those numbers on your bike or helmet. The are instructions included in the race pack stating that if you want a picture to be taken then you must wear the numbers. If you put the numbrs on then don't complain because you get a few photos in the post a few weeks later. You just simply accepted there invitation to take photos of you by putting the numbers on.
  23. I had the same problem when I had my Polar. I usually had to line the IRA device up correctly with the wrist unit and kept the whole setup out of direct light as it seemed to affect the IR connection...I usually put a book over the unit while downloading.
