  2. As is in the photo with pedals....7,7kg I'm considering changing the saddle, seatpost, and pedals
  3. Look what I got this afternoon on the way home......
  4. I had the same problem, where the creak happened at exactly the same point during each revolution. It turned out to be my cleats that were a bit worn. Every now and again I would spray the contact area of the pedal with Q20 and then it would be fine for a week or 2 again
  5. JB, what hubs can you sugget for my American Classic carbon wheels? The front wheel is 18 spoke, radial and the rear wheel is 24 spoke 2 cross. I was thinking of getting a set of DT Swiss 240's, but according to their website they don't make an 18 hole front hubSpeed Devil2009-11-04 13:41:24
  6. This is where your relationship with your LBS really comes in handy. I will do my best to support my LBS as far as possible, but sometimes when I feel that they are bit "greedy" or the funds are a bit low then I go elsewhere, but otherwise I try and stay loyal to them, as I know that they will bend over backwards to help me when I'm in sh!t street one day.
  7. Farking hell!! That is a beauty and not a bad weight at all. With a nice set of carbon wheels and KCNC bits the weight will come down even further. I guess that weight could easily drop to 6.2kg before putting pedals on......So what's the legal weight limit? Nice bike Swift. Hope to chat to you soon about my new bikeSpeed Devil2009-11-03 06:00:40
  8. Audience/one, I have no hassles if a rider drops his empty sachets at a water station to be cleaned up with the rest of the rubbish. in my opinion, that is a responsible rider. It's the riders that throw their rubish into the veld in the middle of nowhere, where the cleaup crews don't sweep the route, that make me angry @ Diesel Donkey - The rider i'm referring to was not in "hot pursuit". We were on a flat strech of road and the bunch was taking it relatively easy. he had absolutely no reason to throw his wrapper away. he didn't even "accidently drop" it. I could see by his whole body language that he intended to throw it onto the road. Besides, I would like to see you suck on a goo sachets while in hot pursuit...that should look pretty funny
  9. Skaap I have helped to man water points before. In my opnion it's ok if the riders drop their empty sachets within 500m of the waterpoint. Afterall, it is the responsibility of the waterpoint staff to clean up their area. It's the pigs that grab a handful, stuff them in their pockets and then throw them away 2km down the road.
  10. No Trubie. This guy was in VA with me. There were a few other guys around me that also passed a remark about this guy that threw his sachet away.
  11. Dimension Data Rider No. VA234. Next time keep your goo sachets till the end of the race and then dispose of your rubbish!!!!
  12. I went there a long time ago' date=' so I can't comment on them now. One rule for CycleTech: - NEVER p*ss off Marco. [/quote'] jmaccelari, that brings back some memories. A few years ago when I was working in Midrand I popped down to them on lunch time and Marco was on the phone with a client/supplier and was having a full go at him/her and using choice words to show his dissatifaction (I think it had something to do with a claims warranty). I just stood there and thought to myself, If this is the way he speaks to other clients, then how is he going to treat me if I have a problem. I have never been back since. It's true what they say...first impressions lastSpeed Devil2009-10-21 11:05:43
  13. Eugene I wouldn't worry about that . As MM pointed out the leverage ratio will change, but it won't be very much. It can be overcome by setting your brake caliper a bit wider or closer to the rim. I have never heard anybody complain when pairing KCNC's or other light weight calipers with their DA, Ultegra, Campag Kempeg or Sram levers.
  14. This is realy really sad. The timing company and race organisers should be brought to book and held accountable. That stupid little waiver that gets signed should be chucked out the back door. All a person does by signing it is that the organisers are are given permission to do what they want....even to endanger the lives of the cyclists. Those mats should have been checked by the race organiser at the start. Surely between everybody helping out at the race there should have been enough combined mentality (with a long stretch) to realise that those mats would have blown up in those winds if they weren't stuck down. It doesn't help to put all the blame on the timing company. The race organisers should also take some part of the blame. I hope the guys have a speedy recovery.
  15. Once again the our timing companies have outdone themselves..... I done the Carousel Classic and Lost City races but the results have not been published on the superseeding ladder. I received an email stating that I start in MM category. I also heard that only times from Racetec/Winning time timed events will be used. I just phoned the race office and they confrimed that they have not received any info from championchip therefore only results from Racetec will be used. They are going to send me forms for a reseed Well done to the 94,7 organisers who are at least trying to help out cyclists that are stranded due to the totally inefficient service of some timing companies and who are now being relegated to a lower category because of this.
  16. See you all at Newlands next weekend PROOOOVIIIIIINCE!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Actually a weighted index is when the pros ride a different route to the rest of the riders like in the Carousel classic. A "winning time" for the open cats is calculated based on the ave speed of the pros in their longer distance. However, the PPA uses the "weighted index" to their own advantage to disadvantage non WP cyclists so that the WP riders get better categories in the Argus
  18. Agteros In my line of work, if a client doesn't give approval/comment on a design then after 14 days we consider it as being accepted by the client. The same should apply with the timing companies. I agree that CSA should take ownership of the seeding ladder, as this is a national thing. But then again, I don't know if CSA will be up to the task as they are still trying to sort out licenses, never mind still trying to run a seeding ladder. Let's not forget about the swimming pools being built and mercs being bought at the same time I don't see how Racetec can say that only races timed by them will be used for the seeding on the 94,7. They only do the timing and results, NOT THE SEEDING!!!!!
  19. So it seems Cyclelab have outdone themselves again. The results for the Carousel classic and Lost City are still not up, despite it being 2 months ago. So it seems I'm going to be riding in the open categories AGAIN for the Telkom Satellite. What pisses me off the most is that Cycle events always says that results must be checked and correct before the will add the results to the superseeding ladder. I think the timing companies should give cyclists 14 days to lodge a complaint. (If they don't do it with that time then it means they not interested in their results). Then all queries should be sorted out and handed over over to cycle events. After all, we pay for their sevice so we should get better service from the timing companies. And of course Cycle events will happily sit back and just wait while the companies take their sweet time!!!!! instaed of being pro active and chasing the timing companies.
  20. Speed should not be a factor when training according to HR. Rather ride at a lower speed and higher cadence. When I started training according to HR it felt like I was looking for parking, I was riding so slow. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to HR based training. Hang in there, you will get used to it.
  21. Before you go cutting the seatpost, first get a proper bike setup done and then cut the seatpost. You don't want to end up up being 1cm too short.
  22. Why do you need the profile? That road is FLAT!
