  1. Ok maybe i'm being retarded here but how in bobs name do you remove these? I see no way of getting any tool I have in there to whip them off, unless i've missed the boat. any ideas? thanks
  2. this lot are 'avin a friggin' bubble bath with some of the comments....

  4. Being new on the roads here in SA, I've found in general roadies and mtb'ers to be friendly. It's common practice to say hello in europe when you pass a fellow rider, no matter where you are. Whilst out on my rides in KZN, 9/10 I say hello and get a hello back. It's only a small number who blank me. No animosity experienced here
  5. I use it in a plastic jiffy bag with cycle meter installed. amazing bit of code: http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/041/Purple/a8/1e/1a/mzl.wvijxyap.320x480-75.jpg http://a1.phobos.apple.com/us/r1000/043/Purple/9e/4d/2e/mzl.fiudqnla.320x480-75.jpg link battery life is just fine, 4 hour ride often uses a quarter battery.
  6. Sucks, good thing he managed to call the emergency services. I guess riding with a mobile phone is paramount these days, those who don't really are asking for trouble.

    Ballito rides

I don't find the M4 that bad, especially early morning. The number of riders I see using the road gives me some confidence that if you ride aware of your surroundings, it's not that bad (this coming from a ex-london courier rider..)

    Ballito rides

I'm usually heading up there via tongaat to ballito and back but happy to think of a new ride to do
  9. I guess it comes down to what you can afford. If you prefer the toyota range, go shimano/sram. If you prefer the german/italian engineering option, you know where to look
  10. Interesting little thread, those who are doing 5k+, are you riding every single day or just hammering it on the weekends?

Ok so need to work on my average speed, it's around 24 at the moment (first time back on a bike in nearly 15 years).

    Debben rides?

Any fellow debben riders doing any rides of the festive season? Since cycle labs shut down till the new year, would be great to hear of other rides going on
  13. yup an English man would never be seen looking like a welsh man. it's why we put them over there and made a bridge to get to them.
  14. Oh i get the sizing conventions, it's just that the local shops here only seem to stock L and XL, when I enquired about anything larger I was met with a strange look. I'll order from the UK if needed, just thought I'd support local industries as much as possible
  15. morning all, since having moved to SA, it seems that most cycle shops (well in durban at least) stock clothing for the smaller sized man, often forgetting those who might be fit, not built like an indian rickshaw driver. Can anyone suggest a place that has cycling shirts for 44" chests? having just received my cycle lab shirt (it being an XL), I'm sure they are using Justin Bieber as the mark of all sizes, because there is no way in hell a standard man could fit into this. thanks
