  1. Touch wood and anything else, the M4 isn't bad at that time of the morning. Granted you need to be aware of your surroundings and know how to read traffic. I would rather recommend heading up the R102 towards Ballito over going direct on the M4. I know a few chaps who do hammer up and down the M4, but I personally find it a boring road with very little challenges on the way.
  2. There are a few you can do from Cowie road. One is head up the m4, turn off at La Lucia and then head up Armstrong avenue and all there to the M41 towards Ballito and then back. It's about 100+ km's and a good solid ride. I'll be back in durbs on thursday if you fancy a riding partner to show you the way? map
  3. yes, that dutchman style mullet causes drag. I usually slick it back but the cherries prefer it out.
  4. they do spin, as you'd expect them to. it's when you ride that you notice a difference. they just feel slower than any other wheel i've ridden with. almost like under load, there is something dragging
  5. yah exactly the same thing here, free-wheeling down a steep hill, i'm getting 45kph max. strange.
  6. Morning all, Finally got a set of these after wanting them for a while and after 400km's, they really do roll pretty slow. Nothing is causing the brakes to drag, they run true and I can't see anything untoward with the bearings but they aren't exactly speedy. My 23-year old Mavic's with campy hubs out perform these, and that's worrying. Any other SL owners out there able to give any insight as to why they are this slow? I've seen some ceramic bearing upgrades that claim to sort the issue out, but not sure about how right that claim is. thanks
  7. 6.1" 95 kilos. 60-odd kilos? jesus man eat and lay off the coke and tigerblood!!
  8. I do consider this retro, even tho she's coming up to 10 years old. http://hmmm.co.za/pinarello.jpg Aluminum but damn good still. update: I know many hate the Cinelli Intgralter bars but for old tech, they are damn comfortable.
  9. They are 950 US, any idea on what local prices are?

    Pornography

Almost as good as when you first discovered porn on the net.. The Embacher Collection is possibly the closest thing to the most perfect bike collection ever. from the gorgeous TREK Y-Foil, to the COLNAGO Carbitubo Pista and the stunning C4 mountain bike. Enjoy...
  11. Gents, I'm on the lookout for some campy aero levers to finish off the Merckx, anyone have/know of any going? Thanks
  12. i'd rather turn into charlie sheen and WIN!! ahem, nothing to see here, move on...
  13. you are trying to instil logic into a country where drivers STILL do not know how to use a roundabout. Think they can muster enough brain cells to work out how to respect others on the road whilst this basic facet of motoring is still ignored by millions? hardly. Roads in this country are dangerous for anyone using them.
  14. hey i've been doing the same thing and also getting a bit bored, so if you are keen on a partner, i'm keen.
  15. Yah I've pondered with the Cinelli's, they do look the part.
  16. Finally got the Eddy Merckx back from Cycle Art (really good job guys!). http://i53.tinypic.com/10ht2s8.jpg I've got a set of Campy Atlanta wheels and will end up with a Campy Pista crank. Still not sure on the bars though...
  17. Something for the weekend sir? Chris Akrigg
  18. received loads of jerseys from them over the past few months. found the greedy cocks at customs delay the packages more than anyone else in the chain.
  19. I actually really like the colour. Look you can go white/black/silver but let's be honest, how many chaps out there have those colours. These are so french, i'm almost tempted to have a baguette under my arm when strolling around wearing them.
  20. hehe if i told, it would upset the balance out there
  21. I've seen a few for sale here in London but very expensive, 600 quid for one seems to be the average. that is pure porn though
  22. when these come home with her as a present for doing well.. http://youcanhachioji.up.seesaa.net/image/mvi.jpg Mavic Zxellium's
  23. no that's been a good help, i've contacted a local machine firm to see if it's possible and at the same time will look at the watch option (which is the most likely choice as there are some stunning options from polar/garmin these days) thanks
  24. I know this might sound a bit pedantic, but with the overall level of safety when riding on SA's roads, how about some designs that make you stand out a bit. Black easily blends into the environment and for your average motorist, that might not be what you want them to see.
  25. run into a slight glitch with the setup, that being how to fit a computer to the stem/bars on my cinelli integralter. normally i'd purchase the checkpoint extension but they are no longer sold for v1 of the bar and ebay isn't helping. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_71LX2LSm7Uk/TTbHMAp1UYE/AAAAAAAAGyg/emGoS3pV07k/CinelliIntegralter02.jpg anyone know of some tricks i could do to get one mounted? i'm open to buying any computer that does the job. failing that, i was thinking of getting something machined to allow me to mount it. thanks
