  1. Hahaha, damn now you ruined my excuse for needing a new bike. was thinking just that. finding a post. only issue is i have a 31.6mm I Beam post. so if anyone has one of those or knows where i can pickup a cheapie, hit me up
  2. cool. will do for sure. looking forward to it. hope the planets align and i dont end up with some crazy work commitment or something that prevents me from getting there
  3. haha fun shmun, it all becomes competitive this teocali has a *** design in terms of the seat post, but yes it will be as low as it can go
  4. nige how many n00bs generally rock up, and how many on AM/Trail bikes?
  5. i agree with that method. action photo has multiple photographers. but they just seem to fire off shots without to much thought. quantity over quality.
  6. i agree with you wholeheartedly, i got shots from the argus last year and they really were terrible. exposure and focus was all off. But i can imagine how hard is is getting photos of every cyclist in a race like that.
  7. Cycho haha same thing i was trying to get across
  8. i really do not like acion photos pictures. i had considered covering some events that actionphoto havent been covering, but ill give them this. you will never keep everyone happy. in these bigger events everyone wants to have a pic even if they dont buy. to get pictures of everyone. in different places, either you have to be flash gordon or you need multiple photographers. If you follow the recommended base usage rates for a full time photographer, thats R600 an hour, that was calculated by appa.org.za (as far as i know). i doubt action pay their people that much, and i know a few straight out of schoolers that have shot for them before and i know they have VERY limited photographic knowledge or ability. i chased the shova last year as i had to cover a corporate team. (non prof cyclist) to get photos of the front runners and the back markers from the same company was impossible, i was on the run all day and actually missed the front few guys as i couldnt get far enough in front again after getting shots of the slower guys. R50 for a timeless memory? i dont think its all that bad... the quality of pics from actionphoto however is terrible. I would love to make a profitable income from covering some of these events. but bitching over 50 bucks its clear its not a viable option. but i hear you in terms of quality. if you were getting good in focus images that may have some artistic value, what would you feel a fair price is for a photo?

  18. https://www.bicyclen...he-world/91362/ "Bike riders will be able to cruise across Melbourne above the traffic if plans for an elevated cycleway between Flinders Street and Southern Cross Stations come to fruition. The innovative B1 Veloway has been proposed a group of leading firms engaged in architecture, transport design, engineering and project management. It may solve the long running problem of building an east-west bike route along Yarra edge of the CBD, an issue which has so far defied a cost-effective solution." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk8rJ2XBAwQ&feature=player_embedded
