  1. haha thats what i told him. he messaged me this morning saying the doctor said he did a good job. 6 weeks heal time. at the end of the message he said " I still want a downhill bike "
  2. dont listen to reason. ride the new one, and we expect a full report in the morning
  3. falko would the OP be paying transfer on the full cost of the property or only on 600k. on 900k the transfer + lawyer fees are about 40k arent they. or are there more lawyer fees on top of that? or did i miss something?
  4. R 599 999.99
  5. not sure how it applies when buying half a house. but when buying a 'full' house if the transfer is under 600k there are no transfer fees. sounds high to me. transfer and lawyer fees on 900k house is around 40k i cant see that a 1/2 share transfer would be so much. but im no expert, just going thru the whole exercise as im in the market for my first house
  6. Naartjie was in theatre for 4 hours yesterday to sort his collarbone out, hahah such a pathetic fall and he managed to do such a good job. rumours are the bone was broken in about 4 places. MXkid77, love the signature quote
  7. just making me wish we had been able to stay longer i seem to have an itch.... still trying to work out how im going to scratch it
  8. Thanks and thanks Aldine for taking some shots
  9. he is not too stoked. apparently they want to keep him there till saturday. and he wont make his offshore date. more time for him to look for a DH bike
  10. naartjie goes in for surgery today to sort that collarbone out. doctors taking their time haha.
  11. something else to consider. put its a pretty high limit. i dont think it'd really be an issue but a vehicle cant exceed 4.3 m high in the case of peddle bicycles on the roof, or the load cant be greater than 1 and a half times the vehice height if its other goods
  12. no but its a very common law. i knew it before i even had a license. Also be aware that checking that you have both number plates and they are clean, visible and secure is part of your pre inspection test when you do your license.
  13. must say tho, a friend of mine got fined for the same offence, but his number plate wasnt obstructed at all, and they cop wouldnt hear any of it. i think its probably just been voiced that they must fine people with bike carriers cause it obstructs the plate
  14. the carrier is not illegal. its the fact that it obstructs the number plate. anyhoo. ignorance is no excuse. i dont think manufacturers should have to put up warnings for ignorant people. as was mentioned. how many cars do you see with a warning that says warning this car can exceed speed limits. in that context one would then deduce that all cars we drive are in fact illegal *shakes head*
  15. pinnacle is also good. i use premiere now tho
  16. http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/news/article/video-sram-rockshox-back-650b-wheel-size-33755/ shock manufacturers are on it so it should start getting more common

  19. helmet mount is always good if your helmet fits right. your head remains very stable while riding.
  20. old news, plenty threads regarding this. but yes with a lot of the fox forks its easy to convert. some of the rockshox may work and the canondale lefty is an easy fit
  21. hahah to be honest if you had changed the brakes on it he prob still would have bailed i preferred the brakes like that, changing my bike around when i get the chance.
  22. hahah i think we all had a stupid grin on our faces
  23. ok so who was who. after arriving late we didn't quite get to meet everyone although i did see most people i think. Lawrence, you used to frequent e-dirt before am i right, didn't quite put two and two together but you looked familiar and in hindsight i saw a dirt devil sticker (great stuff i still have some from when i used to ride off road) and then i saw the lorenzo sticker. anyway. so who works at racetech, i recall seeing the bantam there with racetech signage, i work about 500m up the road from you. guess we will all meet up at the race planned for ricos, i do seem to have a fair amount of bruises on the right leg, i guess it was expected after going over the bars . And i caught myself looking for a 2nd hand DH bike this morning already Naartjie called me this morning and asked when we going to look for some downhill bikes, so clearly the broken bones haven't put him off
