  1. I am aware of this, and infact did the mod as per youtube videos, but my pressure never went below 12ish...
  2. The steamer is a fair bit quicker, takes around 45 seconds to steam milk, you can also change the temperature of the steamer, so you can make it steam even quicker, it is also nice that being a dual boiler, there is no delay between brewing and steaming, and you can control brew temp and steam temp independently, it also has an adjustable OPV so you can dial that in to your taste as well. I will admit that the Breville, for me at least, was easier to get good texture in the milk, I struggle a bit with the Gemilai. In line with some other comments, it does take a little longer to get up to temperature, around 5-8 minutes, I leave my phone in the kitchen at night, so I just turn it on when I get up to turn my phone alarm off, and by the time I have got dressed and whatever it is ready to use. I leave the portafilter in the machine while it is heating up as it helps heat the portafilter up, and then just pull a 10 second manual shot to get hot water through it to make sure it is nice and hot for the first shots to be pulled.
  3. Hey, it has been a massive upgrade over my old Breville, much more consistent, the grinder did take some fiddling with because the grind wasnt fine enough even on the finest setting out the box, but I pulled it apart and set the burrs closer together, and while I was at it I shimmed them to run straighter, and since then, it has been great, it is a little noisy, but not too bad, and it does take a fairly ling time grinding pre dosed grinds, around 40 seconds, I am sure if I just filled the hopper and used the timer it would be way quicker, but I like being pedantic and weighing out my beans for every cup....
  4. I just got myself a 120 600, it is a great little bike, I am very happy with it so far, but I wouldn't go for that 120 300
  5. So almost a year later, I FINALLY got one, I saw onlinecoffeeshop.co.za had/s a special on this machine with a free grinder, so R14k for an espresso machine with a grinder, the reviews I could find were all very positive, especially considering the price, I have not got the grinder dialed in yet, but so far both machines are nice to use, waiting for some fresh beans to come in and I want to get a decent tamp, but so far so good. Will report back once I get more acquainted with using them
  6. The Skyrim is the better bike, and you have said that it is the one you prefer, you WILL regret getting the Stance, just based on that.
  7. My 2 cents, none of the advice here is wrong, a HT will handle any trail we can ride here in GP, probably even any trail in SA, and 95% of trails all over the world, hell, guys in the 90's were pretty much racing DH on XC HT bikes, but what can YOU handle? I started riding on a HT, despite my mate @thebobtelling me to get a DS, and I loved it, but swiftly, in 6 months from starting riding, moved to a DS (maybe I should have listened), I dont regret the HTs I rode at the time, had epic fun them, but the change to the FS was a game changer, riding, for me, just got more fun. About 3 years into my cycling, I scratched an itch by getting myself a "proper" Trail HT, Silverback Slade, I did 1 ride on it and sold it again, why? Because MY body just cant take the punishment, even though I am not all that old, previous injuries from my younger days sometimes make me feel like I am very old, so just take stuff like that into account. Some people just really like or tolerate suffering/stress more than others, no one can really tell YOU what is right or wrong for YOU, only time and experience can really help you figure that out. So, in ending, take the advice from thebob, go to Wolwe, try a HT and a DS, even if they are from completely different disciplines, you will quickly see which you prefer, and get a better understanding of what is right for you. Fixed some of my spelling....
  8. Everyone saying "if BikeHub pay confirms the money" then all is good, what if the buyer says he never recieved the bike? Without a courier service there is no waybill to track, the seller is still at risk of not recieving the funds, only a buyer really has any real protection
  9. Yeah, that is how it has always worked for me
  10. Been looking at this for a little while, seems to be pretty good value, anyone have any knowledge/experience with it? https://onlinecoffeeshop.co.za/shop/espresso-coffee-machines/espresso-coffee-machines-commercial-espresso-coffee-machine-1-group/prosumer-espresso-coffee-machines/cortex-pulse-v2-dual-heat-pid-with-df54-grinder/
  11. Some advice is needed.... I sold my Breville Barista last year, it made pretty decent coffee in my opinion, at least better than most coffee shops at least, anyway, I am now really regretting selling it, and looking to get another machine + grinder, but would like to get something a nit nicer, could you guys through out some suggestions for a decent machine + grinder combo? Around the R20k mark, I know it is not a lot, but that is what I can "afford" Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  12. How do you know this? Did you get out and ask the drivers? Whether it actually makes a difference or not is not the important part, the important part is trying your best to make sure you are visible. The fashion statement of riding a "clean and sleek" looking bike will mean diddlysquat when you are smeared across the tarmac.
  13. I hear you, but I still maintain my statement, only you can decide really if it is worth it or not. But just some small things to think about. I will put my dingaling on the block and say, you will not find a carbon Ultegra/Dura-ace equipped disc brake bike for R15k, I HIGHLY doubt you will find any carbon disc brake bike at that price, even with Tiagra groupset, unless maybe it is mechanical disc brakes. Some more on the opinion front from me, dont limit to Ultegra/Dura-ace, I have a 10 Speed 105 setup on my bike, and it shifts really well, 105 groupsets are very good, and much cheaper to maintain, and it opens up a much broader range of bikes. There are a few older carbon bikes with Ultegra/Dura-ace groupsets at your price range, but if they are still going to run good for a longtime is not a guarantee, and if they do need things like new cassettes or chainrings, you will be spending a lot more money to replace things than if it is 105.
  14. Only you can really decide if it is really worth the upgrade or not
