  1. I must agree, the best ride this year! The route was the best I have done in a long time. Very well marked route and organisation was top class! Mark this one on your calender, it is worth it.
  2. Hi Smolly, I also went the 650b route. I am running a pair of Maxxis Ardent 2.25's. They are not the full UST version, but works great. I have them wrapped onto ZTR Crests rims. They are quite aggressive big volume tyres. Try them, you will not be dissapointed. R
  3. The Giant 29er is a good bike. I am however of the opinion that for starting out a 26er hardtail will give you better wheels and components for R6k and you will learn a lot of skills on it. Check out Cycle Factory in the Cape, they have good deals!!
  4. Cannot believe you wanted to hide the crack in the first place..........
  5. Hi There, For R12K you can get a Silverback Vida 2, xt/slx mix groupset, ztr wheels etc.. Check out www.silverbacklab.com
  6. Save your money and get a Rock Shox 120mm Reba Dual air! It is awesome!
  7. Hi, i fixed mine with a service....if you are interested in a RP23, which came off a GT Marathon carbon team, dual suss, my friend has one..... PM me for his number if you are interested? I dont know if it will fit your specifications though...?
  8. Hi there, WW, get the Bicycling Magazine of this month - 29er Shootout - the Flash is in there. It might help you to read a review as well. Flash looks awesome....and they weight it!! I am seriously looking at the Momsen due to budget constraints....
  9. I agree, i had the full tubeless version of the x2c dry, called the "Racer". I lost two tires in two months. Very prone to puncture, the rear completely pulled apart after a plug was inserted and after the third plug on the front i called it a day. Using Maxxis crossmark's now without a puncture for 6 months!! And yes they are slippery in the wet.
  10. No I have not asked Fox directly, will send them an e-mail today in light of my reply from Specialized. See reply: Johan- Any 7.5x1.75 shock will work. You will need to make sure that you do stick with a 7.5 eye to eye length and 1.75 stroke or it will not work. To see what shocks are available in that size, I would suggest contacting the shock manufacturers directly. If you cannot located a shock in that size, keep in mind that you can always have your existing shock re-built by Fox. Hope this helps! 11. Hi Hubbers I have a Specialized 2009 FSR XC PRO Large wit a OEM Fox Triad rear shock. It has a very frustrating non standard 7.5" x 1.75" sizing. Has anyone swapped out this shock with say a Fox RP23 Or Rock Shox and what size did you use...? Any help guys...?
  12. Hi Guys, I have broken 4 spoke nipples in the last 2 months. It started just after i converted to tubeless? I am told that it can be the tubeless sealant that corrodes the aluminium spoke nipples. I did not use the rim tape provided as the tyre sealed good enough, i left the rim strip on which came standard with the rim and just used the tubeless rim strip on topof it.. You can however see dried up sealant on all the spoke nipples. It must have leaked through..will use the rim tape now... Has anyone heard or experienced tubeless sealant corroding spoke nipples,in just 3 months? Thanks
