  1. Hi Shantel, We may be biased 😎, so all we'll say on the topic is thanks for considering Titan Racing as one of the options. We'll let the Hubbers chime in with recommendations. Happy shopping and welcome to the wonderful world of mtb'ing. 👍
  2. Not sure if it's been said, but most people are more familiar with car model years and how that gets used. In the auto industry, a car is the MY (model year) that it first gets registered, and when there is a mid-life update, we talk about pre- or post-facelift. Using the VW T-Cross as an example; in 2024 you will be able to buy a NEW MY24 VW T-Cross that is both "new" and "old" versions thanks to a mid-life facelift. It seems the general public somehow gets a bit confused here. Some, conveniently so! 😎 At Titan Racing, we have gone to a two-year model cycle, which means the MY22 and MY23 Cypher range is exactly the same. (Even though some shops use the model year it was first introduced, we're working to fix that. ) Santa Cruz only updated their frames every 3-5 years depending on the model, even the colors stay largely the same year-on-year the last time we checked. The same with Ibis. So there the MY model does not apply, what is more relevant is the year it was first bought as new. Unless of course the MY22 gets replaced with a new model (new molds) then a Ripley is not a Ripley anymore. Confusing, see?! Basically what we need is MY_XX and the year of first registration to have an idea of how old a bike really is.
  3. That's good to know. Well, not great news, but now we know about this. We'll pass this on to the team to see what we can do as a permanent solution.
  4. Hey Grant, Thanks for your interest in our bikes. With some super deals running at the moment, you should be able to pick up the Titan Racing Cypher Carbon Expert for that money. https://titanracingbikes.com/bikes/cypher-carbon-expert/ You said carbon, but also take a look at the alu Titan Racing Cypher Ltd Edition. It comes with a DT Swiss fork and shock, GX Eagle drivetrain, a dropper post, and great finishing kit. https://titanracingbikes.com/bikes/cypher-ltd-edition/ We will let other hubbers chip now. Happy shopping!
  5. 8.9kg actual weight.
  6. We can't give an opinion on the Evoc bag as we've never had it side by side with ours. But from experience, a L Cypher will fit in with no issues and you'll have space for extras. You can check it in as a bag, but due to the size, you'll have to drop it off at the oversize cargo window once checked in.
  7. I've checked with the warehouse and we do have stock of that color in XL. So if your LBS doesn't have one on the floor they can order one in for you. 👍
  8. We think sharing pics of them will help with the healing!
  9. Hi, we've worked through the thread, and you've received some good advice so far on what the potential issue could be. We couldn't pick up any mention of your LBS being involved. The best would be to do so as they will have the experience and knowledge to know where to dig. It may just be a small adjustment, or in the rare case that something is wrong they could handle the warranty with us or the part's supplier and get you back our riding in no time.
  10. Wishing you many happy miles on it. 👍
  11. That's great! We're still loving that color combo. 👌
  12. The Switch will take up to 650x2.0 tire, a 700x42c will safely fit in your Switch. The gap is 50mm. 2.0 vs 2.1, etc: this greatly depends on the manufacturer as somehow they don't all measure the same way so some tyres run narrow for their stated width.
  13. Let me get that info from our tec team and get back to you.
  14. That seems like a mix-up on their site. There is a Titan Racing Switch Comp and Titan Racing Switch Carbon Comp in our line-up. The one listed in the screenshot is the Alu version. Here is a link to the carbon version on their site: https://bike-addict.co.za/products/titan-switch-carbon-comp-2023 The alu frame comes with a carbon fork and the tires are tubeless-ready. https://www.instagram.com/p/CuMyA4aKaUW/
  15. Where are you based? We can get a rep in your area to ask around or we can look outside your province.
  16. First, let's see if we can dig out an XL Rogue Dash, we'll let you know in the morning.
  17. Hi Johann, Unless you're a pure racer, gunning for Top 10's and podiums, counting grams, and being all aero (!), we would always recommend the 120mm. Not because of the 120mm perse, but because the 120mm has a slacker head angle (which helps with confidence), it comes with a dropper post (which helps when descending and technical sections), and will most likely have a bigger 2nd hand buyer's market when the day comes. When it comes to the weight of a rider, a like-for-like build of 100mm vs 120mm doesn't make a big difference as on bikes with air suspension they will both be set up to use full travel, but not bottom out. More travel helps with technical terrain and for various other reasons. To argue the other side based on the above: If you're going to stay off technical single track and get yourself in a situation where a dropper could come in handy, then the 100mm would probably do as well. You can make it a bit more comfortable by running a riser bar and higher stack (more spacers under the stem), etc. You'll most likely make those changes anyway when you buy the bike and go for a bike fit. The carbon pro is a beaut...
  18. Thanks, everyone. 👊
