  1. I had the chance to give it a ride as well, albeit a short one, but was suitably impressed considering it's purpose. Already riding a 29er (although a carbon hard tail) the wheel size for me was a non-issue. Despite being a good 4kg heavier than my usual far less beefy ride it climbed very nicely. In fact a whole lot better on the technical stuff as the rear wheel kept traction regardless of position. As Claudio noted in his review on the longer constant climbs and uphill accelerations the weight was felt, but with the Fox CTD and dropper post it transformed quickly into a capable climber. When heading downhill the slacker head angle, shorter stem and wider bars inspired confidence. Being used to a jarring hard tail the plush suspension on the Remedy did leave me feeling a bit disconnected with the trail, but the same way you might feel when changing to a car with power steering. Something I think I'd come to appreciate with more time behind the bars. With the more relaxed geometry and slightly longer wheelbase than my current ride it didn't dive into corners quite like I'm used to, but I didn't get the chance to really put it through it's paces on a windy trail. For a first ride it was a whole lot of fun. Hip jumps and gaps that I'd never taken a second look at before were suddenly fair game and comfortably so.
  2. None of that skidding around was done on the trails themselves I can assure you. We're big fans of the many hours of work put in at Tokai and would not break this cardinal rule!
  3. Thanks Hairy, I see the incident also took place around the same time as the SAPS statement. Glad to hear it has improved.
  4. Sorry for your loss wimron. For anyone considering riding this section of road please see this message from Tableview SAPS in October: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/132232-warning-table-view-new-sanddown-road-and-potsdam-road/ Rather avoid it! Wimron - hope you can recover the bike.
  5. For what it's worth, on my end the logos all look fine. And even on a Mac retina display which tends to blur most site logos. Good job overall!
  6. Hi Meentb, My suggestion to you and any Hubber with suspicions about items for sale: Hit the Report Button (for either suspected counterfeits or suspicious in general) We've got many knowledgable Hubbers and a number of local distributors on hand who will relatively quickly help us identify a fake without publicly accusing anyone just yet. Even perhaps PM the advertiser with the query.
  7. Thanks all, the distances have been corrected as per the link above.

  9. A mountain bike event like no other. There is no start or finish. No short route or long route. In fact, no set route at all. Just you, your bike and any of the selected trails around SA. Big MTB Year is the brainchild of the team at EcoBound events. The same team behind some of the stalwarts of the mountain biking calendar ('Trans Baviaans' and 'To Hell and Back', to name just two). 15. Thanks rock, Claudio's the man to thank though. Keep a look out for the 3 parts to follow in the series on other local online stores.
  16. From what I understood from Chris it would not necessarily mean a change to products / pricing between the physical and online. Rather a separation of the stock to a warehouse to enable better stock control for the online store. This way if the online store shows 10 in stock there are 10 available to be shipped, not 9 plus one that's floating around the shop in someone's basket.
  17. On a day when most of the country was braaing to celebrate our country’s heritage my Wines2Whales partner and I were out fine-tuning our bunny-hopping prowess.
